This type of a player has a killer mindset and is ready to go out on the floor and do whatever it takes to get the win for their team. Do you know a kid like that, well we have seen many of them this year and we are going to list them here in the So Cal area.
2020, 5’10, CG, Oaks Christian HS, Taylor Donaldson Taylor Donaldson 5'9" | SG Oaks Christian | 2020 State CA – Taylor has always been a shotmaker, but thru the summer club season months she has just improved her shot tremendously over this past year. She can dribble hard at you and pull up in your face or take you off the dribble and stop on a dime and nail the shot, she is very dangerous on the floor either wide open or not. She is a killer from deep.
2020, 5’4, PG, Orangewood Academy HS, Sydney Gandy Sydney Gandy 5'5" | PG Los Alamitos | 2020 State CA – Sydney is a killer as well, she has one of the most purest shot forms in the game today. She knocks them down from deep and can score with her jumper at all three levels on the court. Pull up off the dribble, take you off the dribble, shoot off the catch is all in her skill set. She will set records at Idaho when she touches the floor.
2021, 5’5, SG, Mater Dei HS, Alyssa Frescas Alyssa Frescas 5'8" | SG Mater Dei | 2021 State CA – Alyssa is a bonefide shooter on the floor, she will take a shot from anywhere out there, she is just not a shooter, she is a shot maker. Coaches know the difference and they want to recruit girls like Alyssa who are shot makers. Alyssa is tough and ready to take on the job on the defensive end as well, she is really active with the ball and can make plays for her team as a point guard.
2021, 5’7, PG, Bonita Vista (San Diego), Sylena Peterson Sylena Peterson 5'7" | PG Bonita Vista HS | 2021 State CA – Sylena gave her best performance tonite, she ran the offense, she scored and she distributed for her team. She got to the rim, shot the three ball and hit a few floaters in this game which kept her fighting for her team to try and win the game. Her handle is great, she can score from all three levels and she is a good defender on and off the ball.
2023, 5’11, SF, Ontario Christian HS, Chloe Briggs Chloe Briggs 6'0" | SF Ontario Christian HS | 2023 State CA – Chloe is special, she can put up numbers in a hurry and she does it anyway you like. She has great size and is always on the attack, she has worked on her skill set for awhile and it shows with the nice stroke from outside and the athleticism used to get to the rim. She probably has about 30 twenty points games this year, she is a bucket getter, whenever her team needs a score.
2023, 5’11, CG, Artesia HS, Samerika Young – Samerika is a monster, she does everything a player should do to help their team win. Her handles are decent, her scoring ability is impressive and she not only contributed on the offensive side of the ball, but killed it on the boards. She has decent size and nice body type that moved very well on the floor, plus she is a freshman, better recognize.
2023, PG, San Jacinto Valley Academy, Princess McCauley – This girl could score like no one else, she scored from all three levels on the floor. She had a pretty good jumpshot and could get to the rim and finish thru contact. She was a good rebounder and a heck of a player on defense as well.
2023, 6’2, CG, Winward HS, Judea Watkins Judea Watkins 6'1" | CG Windward | 2023 State #1 Nation CA – JuJu is a problem, no matter what you throw at her, she is gonna find a way to get a bucket for her team. She is lethal getting to the rim, she can finish thru contact to get the hoop and the harm. She is a threat to score from all three levels on the floor and she is very skilled with the ball in her hands. Her defensive side of the floor is improving, this will come with age, she is the total package and has shown it all year long.
