Continue ReadingNot many players had as much of an overall impact to a powerhouse club as the junior from Kirkwood did on one of the more impressive clubs in Missouri this year, Benham was a player that really made things happen on the offensive end and was able to net a hand full of double digit scoring games including a season-high 19 in the season opener over Rock Bridge on 9-of-15 shooting. Had 13 points in games vs. Webster Groves and Eureka which were also nice outings.
No stranger to success and being one of the more fantastic players to watch in St. Louis, 2nd team All-Metro St. Louis honoree, Kelsey Blakemore was one of the more amazing players for the 2019-20 season and was a Warrior for the Warriors who made out with a 26-6 record to claim a third place standing in Class 3. Blakemore played major role in helping the Warriors to a 26-6 finish and a third-place finish in Class 3. Whitfield’s team-leader at a 14.4 ppg clip, she chipped in 5.2 boards per game, 4.2 assists, and 2.5 steals per outing.
One of the players that we like a lot for her ability to make some great things happen for the Crusaders, Laila had many double-digit outings and 18 vs. Eureka and 17 vs. Vashon for top scoring outputs, also scored 11 in the season opener vs. Notre Dame. One of the more underrated prospects in St. Louis.
One of the better looking young players in the St. Louis suburbs from a program that has a nice history of talent is Troy Buchanah point guard Makenna DeClue. On the year she averaged 10.4 ppg., clipped at a mark of 32.1 from the floor, 37.6 3FG% 73.1 FT% and had season averages of 2.7 RPG, 2.14 APG, 1.55 SPG, .17 BPG. DeClue’s top outing was against Francis Howell, and her best shooting with 7 threes) came vs. Fort Zumwalt West (sectionals) when Buchanan overcame a large deficit in second half for Troy Buchanan. For sure Makenna has all the potential to be a top 3-point shooting guard and is a very strong ball handler. She has offseason goals to become a better ball handler under pressure and to attack the basket and finish better and to be a 45-50% overall shooter.
Not many players were as much on their game for the entire years as the very focused and driven 2021 standout Reagan Rapert Reagan Rapert 5'6" | PG Union | 2021 State MO of Union was for her junior season. Really was able to score at will and ended up being ranked the second leading scorer in the area with 512 points good for a 21.3 average. Not to be forgotten was her all-around game in which she posted averagges of 6.2 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4.6 steals per contest for a 20-5 Wildcat team.
