Moriah Prewitt – 5’8 G – 2021 – Des Moines Christian
Prewitt was forced to do most of the scoring today for Des Moines Christian and I thought that she handled that well. Bishop Heelan is a very good defensive team and Prewitt still ended up with 19 points in the game. She’s one of the top players in the 2021 class.

Skinner was good offensively as she scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting. While she was good offensively, she was great on the defensive side of the ball. Skinner read the Des Moines Christian passes perfectly and came away with seven steals on the day.

– 6’1 PF – 2020 – North Scott
Boffeli scored early and often for North Scott who quickly got off to a hot start. She had 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting and added in nine rebounds. She played very good post defense as well showing her versatility on both ends of the floor. She is the player that keeps North Scott moving.

Katcher struggled shooting the ball but she really made up for it at the line and rebounding it. She scored 12 points in the game and was 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Katcher grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out six assists showing her all-around game.

Draper pulled down a double-double in their quarterfinal loss. She was a bright spot for Waverly-Shell Rock as they struggled to score. She had 14 points and 10 rebounds also with a few blocks and steals. She was an impact player and Center Point-Urbana had no answer for her.

– 5’11 PG – 2022 – Gilbert
Hawthorne was by far the best player on the floor the entire day. She scored 31 points and at times it seemed she was content with putting her team on her back. She even dished off six assists and had five steals in the game. Hawthorne was aggressive with the ball and it was great to see.

Hopp looked like a senior at the state tournament with the poise that she showed. In a fast-paced game she scored 21 points in just 21 minutes to help lead her team to the win. Hopp had a good game defensively as well which could have been overshadowed by her offensive production.

Camden was the other 21 point scorer on Tuesday evening as Glenwood took out Gilbert. Camden continuously got to the rim and scored. Camden is a guard who doesn’t make many mistakes and once again she did just that in leading her team to a big win.

In a quarterfinal win, Esterling scored 21 points which included the game-tying basket to send the game to overtime with a few seconds left. She was around the basket all day long and was able to finesse herself to the rim on multiple occasions. Esterling added eight rebounds in 33 minutes of action today.

– 6’ PF – 2020 – Osage
Brandau helped Osage come back from a large deficit early on to take a win in the first round. She had 16 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks in a very good performance that saw West Branch struggle a lot with her length. She was one of the top players of the day because of her impact on both ends of the floor.
