One of the most exciting play makers in the STL, Williams makes up for her size with quickness and ball handling skills and one of the best players to watch if you want to see a player that can make things happen off the dribble. The junior was able to really take control this year and reached 30 + points three times with her high coming vs. Belton with 39 on 12 -of-22 shooting. Williams proved just how good she could be from the outside also with 7 long distance treys both vs. Belton and Incarnate Word. Had a season high 6 steals vs. Mehlville as well.
Na’Lani Williams, 5-9, 2022, Hazelwood West
You always hear people and coaches say rebound the ball, well with Williams she was that player who did just that and really proved to be one of the more impressive players in the class of 22 in the Suburban league at a 8.8 rpg, clip for the year. The 5-9 standout can do a lot of things and one of those is using her footwork to get to the right spot on the floor and crash the boards. 12 boards six times on the year and reached double figures a hand full of times also. Promising future.
Eliza Maupin, 6-2, F, 2022, Webster Groves @eliza_maupin
Size and shooting touch are very impressive for this super sohomore from Webster Groves, who ins 26 games of action shot a very impressive 55.6% from the floor on 114-of-205 shooting. Maupin was a low post dominator for sure and a player that 10.6 ppg and shot 71% from the charity stripe. Maupin is one of the players to watch for at 6-2 and with the ability to find the bottom of the net, she is a go to force in the Suburban.
MacKenzie Rhodes, 5-7, G, 2021, Parkway North @kenzierhodes15
One of the area leaders for three point shooting with 37 treys on the year, Rhodes likes to shoot and has the ability to give the Vikings some scoring and be hard to defend against as well. Averaged 10.4 ppg, and we could see her even getting up to 15 or so a game next year during his final season and being a huge factor again in their offense. Had a season-high four 3 pointers vs. Parkway Central and Eureka.
Nariyah Simmons, 5-2, G, 2021, Hazelwood Central @ryaab2x
One of the most impressive and quick defensive guards in the STL metro area and a steal leader in the Suburban, Simmons finished the year with 110 steals and her quick hands and feet gave opponents fits all season long. Simmons was a player that also had 82 assists and 27 blocks as well. 3.79 steals per game and 2.83 assists per game was very impressive for sure. Posted a season-high seven steals in three games for the Hawks.
