Today’s list will cover the top 5 point guards from the class of 2020. Keep in mind that this list is for point guards specifically. These players can play the prototypical point guard position/pure point guard position at the next level.
#1 Anna Ostlie Anna Ostlie 5'8" | CG Chaparral | 2020 State AZ 5’8 2020 G Chaparral
Anna Ostlie Anna Ostlie 5'8" | CG Chaparral | 2020 State AZ is the best point guard in the state, in my opinion. She has elite court vision and passing ability. Of course, Anna is a bucket-getter as well but her true role is point guard. Ostlie is an overall great point guard, being able to facilitate for her team or get a basket on her own.
#2 Jasmine Singleton Jasmine Singleton 5'6" | CG Millennium | 2020 State AZ 5’7 2020 G Millennium
Singleton is a leader in the truest form and that is exactly what a point guard is. Singleton will surely be a vocal leader no matter what team she is on and I love that trait in a point. Singleton doesn’t score the ball much but she really doesn’t need to do so, that’s not her game. Her game is playing excellent lock down defense, facilitating for her teammates, and being the vocal leader.
#3 Iva Drobjnak Iva Drobjnak 5'7" | CG Bella Vista Prep | 2020 State AZ 5’7 2020 G Bella Vista
Iva really impresses me with her court vision and passing. She is a great pure point guard to have on your roster. She seems to make passes and plays before anyone else knows whats going on. She can see things seemingly before they happen due to her high IQ.
#4 Senya Rabouin Senya Rabouin 5'5" | CG Shadow Mountain | 2020 State AZ 5’5 2020 G Shadow Mountain
Many will probably look at Rabouin as a 2 guard, however I think she will play the 1 at the next level. She is more than capable of facilitating for her team. She has shown that skill more than once and is frequently throwing flashy passes. Her role was more of a 2 guard in HS but at the next level, she’ll be a point.
#5 Victoria Perez Victoria Perez 5'2" | CG Chandler | 2020 State AZ 5’3 2020 G Chandler
Perez is the definition of pure point guard. She can control the game’s tempo and flow with ease. She has a high IQ and makes some great reads/passes. She is a big difference maker for her team and a lot of what she does on the court doesn’t show up in the stat sheet.
