(A-Private) 5-5 PG Nadia Reese – Stratford Academy
Quietly kept as one of the best guards in Georgia that is still unsigned, the Middle Georgia standout has been an established commodity since Day 1 as a freshman at Stratford Academy. Reese finished off an outstanding career averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4 steals per game. She is an exceptional ball handler that plays with confidence and is a lead-by-example player. The smooth playmaker holds an 1160 SAT and 4.03 GPA.
(A-Private) 5-8 SG Mary Elaine Mitchell – Stratford Academy
A four-sport athlete that lettered in soccer, softball and golf, Mary Elaine Mitchell is a knockdown shooter on the perimeter that can create offense on the perimeter in less than three dribbles. Mitchell is a vocal leader.
(4A) 5-6 PG Tionna Baker – Northwest Whitfield
Keeping up with the tradition of Bruin success, Tionna Baker was the latest guard to win All-Area Player of the Year honors. She stuffed the stat sheet with 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.8 steals per game. Her versatility and nose for the ball makes for a dynamic playmaker with good court vision.
(2A) 5-6 CG Jashanti Simmons – Putnam County
Jashanti Simmons pumped in 22.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 5 steals per game as an athletic perimeter scorer. Simmons does a good job of breaking her defender down off the dribble and slashing into the lane where she can finish over the defense. She’s an aggressive defender that can get out in transition after causing turnovers with her on-ball tenacity.
(2A) 5-5 PG Destinee Ellison – Washington County
Destinee Ellison is a grinder. Her toughness was on display when she injured her hand on Senior Night but decided to stick it out and play with just one hand. Even with one hand bandaged and unable to do anything, Ellison went coast-to-coast and finished a layup with her only option. She averaged 14 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.2 steals while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and 22 ACT. Ellison provides quickness on the perimeter and a winning pedigree.
