Continue ReadingThe strongest spot on the floor in the 2022 class in Iowa are the power forwards. 37 of the Top 150 play at this spot and the majority of them are able to play both interior positions and a couple are able to bounce out onto the wing and play very easily. Sitting at the top of the rankings is Hannah Stuelke Hannah Stuelke 6'2" | PF Cedar Rapids Washington | 2022 State #41 Nation IA from Cedar Rapids Washington. She is the lone player in the 2022 class committed to play at the next level and she committed to Iowa early in the process. Stuelke is a very versatile forward who runs the floor well, rebounds the ball at a high level, and has the ability to handle the ball in the open floor. She also holds the top spot in the overall rankings, as she has done in every rankings update previous to this one.
Right behind her is Brooklyn Meyer Brooklyn Meyer 6'2" | PF West Lyon | 2022 State #74 Nation IA and Jada Gyamfi Jada Gyamfi 6'1" | PF Johnston | 2022 State #76 Nation IA , at the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. Both of these players are high level forwards with the ability to play multiple spots on the floor. If a college coach wants a player who can stretch the floor and shoot the ball at a high level then they would prefer Gyamfi. If a coach wants a player who plays very well on the inside and has a lot of strength to her game then they would prefer Meyer. Both of these players are very similar in college projection, but play a different style of basketball. They are the 2nd and 3rd ranked power forwards but they are also round out the top three overall with Stuelke.
Brynlee Arnold Brynlee Arnold 6'3" | PF Glenwood | 2022 State IA and Riley Moreland Riley Moreland 5'11" | PF MFL-Mar-Mac | 2022 State IA round out the Top Five players with Arnold being another player in the Top 10 at this position. Arnold has really developed her game nicely over the last few months and has been able to knock down shots at a high rate, but also has shown more of a willingness to get into the paint and score. Moreland is also a very solid forward who will play both on the wing and in the post at times in college. She is underrated with what she can do with the ball in her hands and is one of the top players in the 2022 Class. There is a lot of upside in the 2022 class and it really all starts with the forwards.
