I have been around a long time, I know about agendas and I also know about pettiness, ASGR had my daughter ranked #267 at the guard spot at one point because of my “uppity” behavior yet more on that when I drop my PODCAST but there are some people I trust and hearing about McKinna Brackens McKinna Brackens 5'10" | SF Fairfield | 2023 State TX (Fairfield) prior to the state championship game had me find some footage and she solidified it with not only a State Championship (UIL 5A) but was named MVP of the tournament
I know all too well who Tristen Taylor Tristen Taylor 5'4" | PG Duncanville | 2023 State TX (Duncanville) is after catching back up with her at the Sandra Meadows Classic, I had written about her explosiveness and court savvy while she was in the 7th grade but the game starts where? AT THE ONE and she was named All-Tournament while helping lead her squad to the (UIL 6A) State Championship. I’m not familiar with Chelsea Lott (Lipan) however the 5’9 freshman guard was on the runner up team in the state tournament (UIL 1A) and hopefully, I get to truly evaluate her
UIL State All-Tournament Teams
What I do know is Sammie Wagner Sammie Wagner 6'1" | SF Reagan | 2023 State #2 Nation TX (Reagan) helped guide them on an impressive run and the Baylor commit just flourished on center stage which is no surprise to me. RyLee Grays RyLee Grays 6'3" | PF The Village School | 2023 State #17 Nation TX (The Village) showed no mercy at times and was a key part of their winning a State Championship (Tapps 6A) but how about those who just came in and sent a message early because Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX (Barbers Hill) is on her way to breaking some records and I’m not talking vinyl yet she dropped the mic in the 5th grade when I crowned her #D1Lock
Gisella Maul Gisella Maul 5'10" | SG Cedar Park | 2023 State TX (Cedar Park) helped lead her team to the Region 3 Regional Finals as well as Zeryhia Lee-Aokuso (Amarillo) both in 5A yet newcomer Jaeden McMillin Jaeden McMillin 6'0" | SF College Station | 2023 State TX (College Station) helped lead them to their first-ever state tournament so these are just a few names of players I caught either live or on Memorex that I saw multiple times and there will be more lists with more players because always remember, talent is everywhere
