So far we have outlined the point guards and shooting guards and will now take a look at the combo guards.
Combo guards are considered players that could likely play the one or the two at the next level. Sometimes, players that fit into the category of combo guard are capable of playing the 1, 2 or even 3 dependent on their size. Most of the players below are guards that can play either back court position.
Top Combo Guards:
5’10 Camille Carpenter Camille Carpenter 5'10" | CG Moses Lake | 2020 State WA of Moses Lake High School is ranked as the number one combo guard of the senior class (feature image). The Southern Utah signee has good size in the back court and can handle, pass and shoot it from the perimeter. Inglemoor High School’s Lucy Young Lucy Young 5'8" | CG Inglemoor | 2020 State WA is next up and she is a team oriented player that plays hard on both sides of the ball and she can hit the outside shot at 5’8. Young will be playing at UC San Diego this Fall. Number three is 5’10 Kal Schaplow Kal Schaplow 5'10" | CG Toledo | 2020 State WA out of Toledo High School. She plans to play basketball and be a part of the throwing team as well. She can shoot it from long distance and she is a hard working athlete. Next in line is Amayah Kirkman Amayah Kirkman 6'3" | PG WA from Lynnwood High School. The 5’8 guard has good speed and can turn defense to offense. She plays a good game in transition and will bring her attacking mentality to Azusa Pacific in California. At number five is North Creek High School’s 5’9 Brandi White Brandi White 5'9" | CG North Creek | 2020 State WA . One of the state’s top shooters and a capable secondary ball handler with her high basketball IQ. Finally, we have 5’11 CG Amanda Lee Amanda Lee 5'11" | CG Shorecrest | 2020 State WA from Shorecrest High School. Plays a lot of point guard for her high school team, but can really shoot it from deep as well. A highly skilled player that is reportedly uncommitted.
