The center position of for 2021 graduates in Washington is strong with a lot of depth as far as Division 1 prospects. There could be anywhere from 4-8 posts in the class that will move on to the Division 1 level, dependent on how things shake up with Summer basketball and player’s ability to gain exposure in front of the coaches.
Class of 2021: The Centers
6’2 C Faith Bergstrom Faith Bergstrom 6'3" | C Camas | 2021 State WA (Camas HS) – Length, shot blocking ability, above average footwork and a soft touch around the basket. Holds three Division 1 offers as previously reported.
6’2 C Katie Thiers Katie Thiers 6'2" | C Roosevelt | 2021 State WA (Roosevelt HS) – Strong, big body post that rebounds at a high level. Can finish around the basket and clear space in the paint. D1 recruit. *Feature image
6’2 C Katie Peneueta Katie Peneueta 6'2" | C Heritage | 2021 State WA (Heritage HS) – Another strong post in the paint that clears space and provides a steady inside presence on both sides of the ball. Division 1 offered player.
6’3 C Aspen Garrison Aspen Garrison 6'3" | C Sehome | 2021 State WA (Sehome HS) – A player that is getting better each and every year. Great length protecting the paint and developing offensive skill set. Should have multiple college options when it is time for her to make a decision.
6’3 C Charity Hines Charity Hines 6'4" | C Steilacoom | 2021 State WA (Steilacoom HS) – Has dealt with some setbacks throughout her high school career, but has been training and working with the NW Magic coaches to hopefully be able to play in her final Summer. Strong frame with shot blocking ability. Put back threat on offense.
6’2 C Gillyan Landis Gillyan Landis 6'2" | C West Valley | 2021 State WA (West Valley HS) – A good mixture of skill, size and post play. Can play on the low block or operate out of the high post. Another prospect with real Division 1 potential.
6’4 C Sharayah Johnson Sharayah Johnson 6'4" | C Lincoln | 2021 State WA (Lincoln HS) – The most physically empowered player in the class with her frame and height. Lefty that’s tough to move off her spot and she has a soft touch on her shot and finishes around the basket. Will fit into a program that likes to play in the half court through their bigs.
6’3 C Samantha Skaggs Samantha Skaggs 6'3" | C King's | 2021 State WA (King’s HS) – Lefty post with enough skill to step out and hit the occasional mid-range jumper. A put back threat around the basket and solid rebounder on the defensive end.
6’0 C Gracey Neal Gracey Neal 6'0" | C Mt. Spokane | 2021 State WA (Mt. Spokane HS) – A throwback post that bangs in the paint and makes her presence felt. Solid footwork and a good rebounder. Also an above average free throw shooter.
