She is a one in a million kind of player with a great combination of size and athleticism rarely seen in a high school girls basketball player. That is not to say that there are not other superstars and soon to be superstars in the class of 2022. The class is loaded with size and will see a whole lot of players headed to the D-I level, especially the bigs. Here are a few that could see their stock rise over the next few years.
Faith Springwater Faith Springwater 5'10" | PF Tahlequah | 2022 State OK | 5-10 F | Tahlequah | @fspringwater
Springwater is an all-around outstanding scorer. She can shoot from deep. She can take her defender one-on-one and drive to the hoop. She also is a very big target in the middle and does a good job of getting position. Springwater rebounds well and is a good enough defender, due in large part to her size. She keeps a lot of players from scoring inside. With two years of high school experience to go, Springwater will become more fluid in her handling and could progress upward from her current No. 10 ranking. The sky’s the limit with this big!
Kierra Brown Kierra Brown 5'6" | CG Putnam City West | 2022 OK | 5-10 C | Choctaw | @hannah_sue113
Smith is a hard-nosed player who does not back down from anyone. She battles hard on the boards and gets a lot of rebounds. She is a ferocious defender. Her length gives opponents fits inside and leaves her defender guessing. She can do it all. She steps out and hits threes with consistency, but more often than not prefers to be in the middle mixing it up. She does not back down from any opponent and will one day make an outstanding addition to a college basketball program.
Breonest Huffman Breonest Huffman 5'10" | C Moore | 2022 State OK | 5-10 C | Moore
Breonest Huffman Breonest Huffman 5'10" | C Moore | 2022 State OK plays on a tremendous team at Moore and can sometimes get lost in the shuffle. There are just too many scoring options there. She does a great job of reading the play and getting into the passing lane. This often sees her defending the point guard at the top of Moore’s zone and doing a tremendous job. She relishes the one-on-one battle and is not afraid of anyone. With time, she could become more of a scoring option at Moore and that will see her skyrocket up the rankings. She has shown plenty of ability on the offensive end, there just aren’t enough possessions to go around on that talented team.
