College Commitment: 2021 Madison Rubino (Glacier Peak HS)
Idaho Head Coach Jon Newlee has been on a roll with celebratory tweets of the Vandals “getting better every day!” in reference to high school commitments and transfer news. Sunday, April 5th was more of the same after getting news that Glacier Peak High School forward, Madison Rubino Madison Rubino 6'0" | PF Glacier Peak | 2021 State WA , let the staff know of her commitment.
Rubino is a steady inside presence for Glacier Peak and is more than willing to do the dirty work whether it be rebounds, defending the opposing team’s post, diving for loose balls, or setting hard screens. She is a team player that can fit into an up and down playing style or more of a half court setting. Idaho always has a team full of high level shooters, so she will be surrounded by plenty of three point shooting across the board. Their two other 2021 commits include 5’6 Ashlyn Wallace Ashlyn Wallace 5'6" | PG Clarkston | 2021 State WA (WA) and 5’8 Jordan Allred (CA) who both committed in the Fall of 2019.
The 6’0 forward also took visits to Eastern Washington and Montana among other schools. She received the offer from Idaho on November 15th while on an unofficial visit.
