The HCIAL had some of the best talent in the state. There were All-State selections along with underclassmen who have bright futures. Led by Bayonne and Hudson Catholic, the teams in the HCIAL put on a show every time they stepped on the floor. Here are the All-Conference players who stood out the most this season.
First Team
Zanai Jones Zanai Jones 5'5" | PG Hudson Catholic | 2021 State NJ (2021) | Hudson Catholic: Jones was the best player in the conference this season. She was a do-it-all type point guard who has Division I talent. Jones averaged 18 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game to lead the top team in the HCIAL. Jones can beat you in so many ways on the floor and she will continue to show her prowess as a senior.
Makoye Diawara Makoye Diawara 6'0" | SF Bayonne | 2020 State NJ (2020) | Bayonne: If Diawara was not viewed as the most dominant player in New Jersey, then something is wrong here. She was a double-double machine averaging 17.5 points and 14.7 rebounds. She was an All-State selection this season. Diawara notched a double-double in 25 out of 29 games this season and finished with 20 or more rebounds five times.
Eniya Scott Eniya Scott 5'6" | PG Bayonne | 2022 State NJ (2022) | Bayonne: With Diawara moving on, Bayonne was in need of a new star. They did not have to look very long. Scott proved this season that she will be the next big thing, not only on Bayonne, but in the state. Scott ran the offense perfectly this season averaging 14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 3.8 steals. Scott’s decision making is that of a veteran and she has that ability at such a young age.
Maddie Branigan Maddie Branigan 6'0" | PF St. Dominic | 2023 State NJ (2023) | St. Dominic: What Branigan did as a freshman cannot be ignored. That is lead her team in scoring and rebounding. The freshman averaged 14.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game during her first season. Branigan was able to dominate down low on the post. Her skill set and footwork down low is far beyond her years. Branigan will be in the spotlight during her high school years and that will lead her right into bigger things.
Samantha Osorio (2020) | Kearny: Osorio ended her high school career with a bang. The senior averaged 19.3 points per game and grabbed 13 rebounds per contest. Osorio was a two way player who dominated the glass and protected the rim on the defensive end.
Second Team

Lynette Rivas (2021) | Memorial
Adiana Pacheco (2021) | Hudson Catholic

Zoe Mattessich (2020) | Hoboken
