Seairra Hughes commits to Central Arizona College
Sisters Denali Hughes and Seairra Hughes Seairra Hughes 5'11" | SF Vista PEAK | 2020 State CO were a dynamic duo on the court for years growing up and during their time together at Vista PEAK Prep.
The two will soon be reunited to tackle a new level together.
Denali will be a sophomore at Central Arizona College next season and this past weekend, Seairra, a current senior at Vista PEAK, announces via Twitter that had committed to join her sister and play for the Vaqueras in college.
“I’m really excited to play with her again,” Hughes said. “It’s somewhat of a comfort because we have a really good connection on the court and that was an added bonus to getting to play there.”

As a senior at Vista PEAK this winter, Hughes averaged a double-double with 15.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. The versatile and powerful 5-foot-11 small forward also averaged 4.2 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in her final prep season.
With Hughes leading the way, the Bison finished with a 22-3 record and reached the Sweet 16 in the Class 5A state tournament. In her prep career, Hughes finished with 887 points and 773 rebounds in 86 varsity games. At Central Arizona College, Hughes said she saw a place she could thrive and a great opportunity to continue improving as a player.
“I really wanted a school that saw my potential because I really want to keep getting better,” Hughes said. “I felt like the coaching staff and the environment at Central Arizona would give me the best environment to grow as a basketball player and as a person.”
Hughes said she was also considering Wabash Valley College and CSU-Pueblo. She is the No. 13-ranked player in the Prep Hoops Colorado Class of 2022 rankings.
