Player rankings can be both popular and unpopular, depending on your perspective. The rankings will draw in coaches, players, and family members and hopefully provide some validation and motivation for those players on the list and those that are not.
Either way, rankings do matter for many reasons but the most important thing to remember about our rankings is that they are unbiased and are in no way a definitive way to describe a player and her skills. Rankings are a tool to help players gauge where they are in respect to their peers.
The question often asked is are rankings accurate? Yes, they are but they are not perfect. The important thing to remember about rankings is that at its core it will allow for all players to get the needed exposure they deserve for the work they have put in so far.
