To answer that question, I know “anything of relevance” as far as talent in girls basketball and one of my sayings, “talent is everywhere if you know what you’re looking at” applies with what I’m dropping all week. Londyn Steere-SG (Glen HS Leander)
Steere is a long and athletic, that’s the base, and the talented guard has a nice skill-set. She extends on the pull-up for the mid to long jumper, she wants the ball under pressure and then she can ignite the break going coast to coast and finishing herself but her court vision also enables her to hit teammates on the break
Jordyn Lyons-CG (Vista Ridge)
Lyons impressed me at last years All Eyez On Me Individual Showcase almost immediately by finishing strong, after contact, with either hand and she just understands how to get to the basket but she also showed she could shoot it, from mid to long-range and watching her throw countless no-look passes on the money is still in my head
Lanay Fuller- SG (Hendrickson)
Fuller was another #AllEyezOnMe standout and I mentioned her upside was overly impressive but she shoots the midrange consistently, attacks off the dribble and even rebounded strong but also showed that she is capable of playing multiple positions and she played a big part in her high school teams deep run
Aja Holmes -PF (Luling)
Holmes put up huge numbers this season 25/15 and was named to an All-State squad, no surprise because she’s overpowering and falls into #BEAST category but her ability to just dominate on the inside doesn’t outshine the fact that her high school team ran inbound plays for her to shoot the three
Weade Adeleke-PF (Vista Ridge)
Adeleke already has several things going for her, good size, she’s a couple of inches shy of “the magic number” which is 6’0 yet she plays as if she is, which is a -PG (throwback. She scores powerfully on the inside and rebounds the same way, on both ends yet she also can face the basket and score
Caitlyn Smith-SG (Luling)
Smith was a standout at last season’s Tyrone Johnson Showcase and she showcased her ability to shoot the ball, contested, from all over the court but just as importantly, she showed she could create her shot off the dribble as well as attack the basket
Mary Brown-PG (Eastview)
Brown is an up and comer, caught her late yet she immediately showed me some positives especially her poise at running the one. She handles the ball under pressure, she sees the floor and hits the right players at the right time and she also showed she shoot it
