Alex Neimeth Alex Neimeth 5'9" | CG Cedar Ridge | 2022 State TX (Cedar Ridge) fits that description to a tee and after watching her in the Katy Classic, once again I was right. Rolling back through various events, I have put together a list of other talented players from around the Austin area, here are some of the 2022 guards who I’m definitely keeping a close eye from the area
Jordan Rivas-PG (Round Rock) Rivas attacks the basket strong, creates off the dribble and shoots the midrange nicely but she loves pressure, whether it’s taking the last shot when it counts or applying it on defense
Jamyria Ramsey-PG (Weiss) Ramsey falls into that “faster than a speeding bullet” category “with the ball” and she just can just turn a game around with the blink of an eye, but don’t blink, she’s gone and when you add the range…
Jakayla Thompson-PG (Cedar Ridge) Thompson is smooth, she handles the ball under pressure and sees the floor well but she also has a deceptive first step that gives her options for the jumper, mid to long or attack the basket
Neveah McNeil-CG (Vista Ridge) McNeil plays bigger than her size, she also rebounds strongly on both ends of the court against taller players and needless to say she brings the heat on defense and can score
Daphne Johnson-CG (Austin HS) Johnson creates her shot nicely, good form and follow through and understands how to get to her spot and elevate over defenders for the consistent jumper. Plays within herself, a big plus
Holly Moyers-CG (Hendrickson) Moyers uses her size advantage nicely, she can overpower smaller guards and take bigger ones off the dribble but her ability to create her shot stands out
Madison Ware-CG (Hendrickson) Ware is another strong guard that uses her strength nicely and picks and chooses how she wants to attack, when and from where. Good midrange and finishes after the lick
