The Panthers won their 5th straight championship so that means she made a clean sweep of four in a row for her career. The 6’4″ forward/center is headed right down the road to the University of Maryland as her work with St. Frances is done.
Eniya Russell Eniya Russell 5'11" | PG Institute of Notre Dame | 2020 State MD , Point Guard, St. Vincent Pallotti, 2020
This was a pretty good season for Ms. Russell who was chosen for the McDonald’s All American game and committed to South Carolina. She helped Pallotti reach the IAAM championship game where they came up short to St. Frances.
Mir Mclean, Wing, Roland Park, 2020
Another big time recruit who had a stellar season. Mir committed to UConn and was also selectrd for the McDonald’s All American game. She missed some time early on but came back and had a strong season.
Aniya Gourdine Aniya Gourdine 5'7" | CG St. Frances Academy | 2021 State MD , Point Guard, St. Frances, 2021
Aniya really grew into her role as a point guard this season. She scored when necessary and facilitated the offense like a true floor general. She defended at a high level and came up with clutch baskets during their championship run.
Dasia Townes Dasia Townes 5'9" | CG Baltimore Poly | 2020 State MD , Wing, Poly, 2020
Dasia showed off her versatility this season by providing scoring, defense, rebounding, leadership and playmaking at different times based on what was needed. The Virginia Commonwealth recruit led Poly to what looked like a 3A championship level season.
Kristin Sterling Kristin Sterling 6'0" | CG Pikesville | 2021 State MD , Forward, Pikesville, 2021
Kris was probably the best player in Baltimore County this season and one of the top players in the area in general. She has become a knock down shooter from deep and can bang inside with the best of them. She crashes the boards and defends well in the paint.
Anii Harris Anii Harris 5'7" | PG Howard | 2020 State MD , Guard, Howard, 2020
Anii helped lead Howard to an undefeated season with her steady and consistent play. An explosive athlete, she was able to score in transition and off set plays. She signed with Salem University and led the Lions in scoring.
Jayla Oden Jayla Oden 5'6" | PG McDonogh | 2021 State MD , Point Guard, McDonogh, 2021
The University of Illinois recruit had an outstanding season for McDonogh. She was a great leader for a very young Eagles team and had some great performances against the top players in the conference. She showed scoring ability as well as all the necessary skills to run a team at the next level.
Cache Wilson, Point Guard, Poly, 2020
Cache signed with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore during the season and she will contribute right away. She is a tough and aggressive guard that can score if necessary, but this season she was more of a facilitator which is what the team needed. She is a fierce competitor with a high motor.
Ny’Ceara Pryor Ny’Ceara Pryor 5'2" | PG Western | 2022 State MD , Point Guard, Western, 2022
“Lil Mama” is one of the most exciting players in the area to watch. She’s on the small side at 5’3″ but is capable of dominating a game. Defensively she is a terror as she can apply ferocious on ball pressure as well as disrupt passing lanes. She has added a reliable 3 point shot to her offensive arsenal and rarely turns the ball over. She’s holding five D1 offers right now.
Tiffany Hooker Tiffany Hooker 5'4" | SF Reservoir | 2020 State MD , Guard, Reservoir, 2020
The Smith College recruit had an explosive scoring season with a 40 plus point game and several 30 point games. She finished the season averaging 26 a game and was arguably the most exciting player I saw all season.
