Cali Densen of Milwaukie is an offensive artist whose fluidity and shot making skills are second to none, as she showcased these on the way to leading the State in scoring. Halle Hageman Halle Hageman 5'6" | SG Mountainside | 2022 State OR from Mountainside is another dynamic scorer who did it in a big way as she shared the spotlight for the Mavericks this season, with one of her best performances in a 26 masterful performance versus Benson in the MLK Showcase. Ella Prechel of Corvallis is an up and coming combo guard who showed throughout the season she is capable of making the big shot in stride for her team. Overall, there are many prolific shooters in this class that made their mark this past season. Here are the best shooters of the 2022 class.
Cali Denson Cali Denson 5'7" | SG Milwaukie | 2022 OR 2022 5’7” SG Milwaukie HS – Cali is a gifted and imaginative scorer for Milwaukie who has an ensemble of dribble combination moves that she employs to get off her shot. Once she gets enough space from the defender, which she needs very little, she will let it go quickly, resulting in a lot of points for Denson this past season. She ended the season leading the State in points at 27 points per game. In fact in March she checked in at number 11 in the nation as far as scoring average, with just over 30, according to a MaxPreps national article.
Charlotte Richman Charlotte Richman 5'7" | PG Wilson | 2022 State OR 2022 5’7” Wilson HS – She is one of the most capable scorers of her class, as she gets it done at all three-levels and in a fine tuned fashion as well. Her tight dribbling skills, as well as her execution through defenses enable her to get any shot she wants on the floor. However, she’s very disciplined in what shot she takes, allowing herself to ease in offensively. Her range extends behind the three-point line and the midrange is bread and butter for her as well. Nice floater and overall good touch at the basket.
Halle Hageman Halle Hageman 5'6" | SG Mountainside | 2022 State OR 2022 5’6” SG Mountainside HS – Halle is a very solid player overall that is incredibly fundamentally sound, as she brings an edge for Mountainside through her leadership qualities as a floor general. What seals her offensive game together is her three-point shooting skills, which she displayed especially during the 6A State Tournament. She shot 6-10 from deep throughout the entirety of the tournament, as her ball handling skills open up her ability to take them and her accuracy seals the deal.
Abby Graham Abby Graham 5'10" | SG St. Mary's Academy | 2022 State OR 2022 5’10” SG St. Mary’s Academy – Abby is an incredibly hard worker on the court with an endless motor as she ignites a flame within her team whenever she is on the court. She is a fully capable shooter and when she catches fire from deep it is another offensive gear within her reach. Her confidence on the offensive end is already apparent, as she has dozens of ways to score and her confidence in this regard is depicted through her shooting game as well.
Elka Prechel Elka Prechel 5'7" | SG Corvallis | 2022 State OR 2022 5’7” SG Corvallis HS – Elka made a splash this past season for the Spartans as a fearless shooter who knows her role – hitting a big shot in hopes of turning the tide for her team. She looked all the big comfortable shooting in Gill Coliseum in the first round of the 5A State Tournament against formidable foe La Salle, going 3-8 on the way to a team high 13 points. Prechel is a combo guard that knows her role – to score in big stretches and help garner momentum.
Gretta Baker Gretta Baker 5'10" | SF Cleveland | 2022 State OR 2022 5’11” SF Cleveland HS – She is an efficient player in that of her dribbles and movements and knows exactly what shot she wants at the spot of the possession. Dynamic player that is constantly moving throughout the offense and once the ball is hers, she doesn’t waste any time. Shooting mechanics are quick and consistent and she can drain them around the arc. Has some nifty moves within ten feet of the basket with nice footwork as well.
Sage Kramer Sage Kramer 6'1" | PG Philomath | 2022 State OR 2022 6’1” PG Philomath HS – Sage is a tall guard that combines her size with a nice overall offensive game for Philomath. Because of her height, it enables her to tower over defenders and this is aided by her high release, which she shows consistency in as far as mechanics go. This results in a few three-pointers for her per game and because she is the main scorer on the team she can also score in other ways as well. Her mid-range game is just as potent, as she delivers similar consistencies when closer to the rim as well.
