Continue ReadingClub teams are still setting rosters as players across the state are keying up for summer tournament season once Covid-19 restrictions are eased by Governor Kelly enough to play. The 2022 class ranking includes 141 players with dozens receiving consideration to be added for the next refresh, to be release in 2-3 months. While I am not yet aware of all Kansas players suiting up to play this summer, the five listed below are ones that are. They will using floor time to get better and to catch some college coaches’ eyes. These five are prime candidates to work their way into the top 80 in the class.
#82 Michelle Schneller Michelle Schneller 5'9" | SF Olathe East | 2022 State KS , 5’9″, SF, Olathe East, Hookshots – Schneller has a combination of court awareness, athleticism, good hands, and interior ball skills. In a summer 2019 club tournament game she also showed strength by overpowering two opposing players for a loose ball. She saw substantial court time for a very strong Hawks team that reached the Class 6A state tournament. She will be one to watch as she continues to polish and expand her game.

, 6’2″, PF, Derby, PBR Team Lex Nation Breeze – Boettjer is one of the top eight Wichita area players in the 2022 class, she was included in this recent article. Playing for the Dallas, TX, based program, the Premier Basketball site identified her as a notable player at the Yellow Rose of Texas event (March 2019). They described her as a solid interior presence who can shoot the three and go take the ball down the floor off the rebound. Boettjer was a valuable contributor in the Panthers’ run to the 6A state tournament in 2020.
#98 Greta Trowbridge Greta Trowbridge 5'7" | CG Mill Valley | 2022 State KS , 5’9″, SF, Mill Valley, Kansas Elite – A pair of Trowbridge’s strengths are versatility and inside-out ability. Playing against strong players from multiple states at the October, 2019, PGH 250 Expo – Iowa she showed an ability to get inside and play on the perimeter. PGH’s Mason Asher, in his event evaluation of her, thinks she has the point-forward type potential. She has solid speed in transition, can bring the ball up the floor well, and overall showed she is a capable athlete with some scoring ability. Defensively, when she keeps people in front of her she has enough length to bother shooters. Where she got into trouble is with her positioning to defend cutters. Greta is definitely a player to watch develop especially as a shooter and as a half court defender.
#112, Analysia Morales Analysia Morales 5'8" | CG Campus | 2022 State KS , 5’4″, CG, Campus, No Boundaries Athletics – Morales and her teammate below, Tya Tindall Tya Tindall 5'5" | CG Campus | 2022 State KS , were players I got a good look at when they traveled to Hutchinson this past mid-December to take on the Salthawks. A 2020 Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League (AVCTL) Div I honorable mention, she showed a many offensive abilities including deep three point range, beating people off the bounce and finishing, and an eye for finding backdoor opportunities.
#125, Tya Tindall Tya Tindall 5'5" | CG Campus | 2022 State KS , 5’5″, CG, Campus, No Boundaries Athletics – Tindall also was a 2020 AVCTL Div I honorable mention. When her team looked to someone to score it was Tindall. She handles well in transition through traffic with the ball and is a solid threat from the perimeter.
