ND Attack has been one of the top grassroots programs in North Dakota and has a quality collection of players ready to go for this summer.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Bailee Pierce, Morgan Freije, Rozalind Strong, Madi Wilhelmi, Jaycee Richter
Pierce and Freije come from state tournament teams in Hettinger/Scranton and Langdon/Edmore/Munich and provide a solid combination of size, playmaking and scoring. Pierce averaged 10 points per game for the Night Hawks in her sophomore year and is one of the better shooters on the team. Freije has the length and athleticism to defend at a high level and averaged 12 points, six rebounds and nearly four assists for the state title winning Cardinals.
Strong is one of the top perimeter players in the 2022 class, coming off a highly productive season averaged nearly 22 points per game with Dunseith. She’s a gifted scorer, who has the length, ballhandling ability and smarts to excel especially when surrounded with the players she’ll be surrounded by on this team.
Wilhelmi is a terrific facilitator who earned all-region honors last year for Beach. She’s small, but has an excellent feel for the game, can score a little bit and does a good job putting pressure on the ball defensively.
Richter’s been a productive player for Linton/HMB each of the last two years and can impact the game in a number of ways. She’s a solid shooter and can get into the paint at a high rate, plus provides solid perimeter defense.
Forwards: Madison Spacher, Rachel Dahlen, Desidy Schwanke, Quinn Neppl
Spacher averaged better than eight points per game for Watford City as a sophomore, showcasing solid efficiency and the ability to get to the rim and finish. She’ll have a big opportunity to put up solid numbers playing with high-level shot-creators all over the floor.
Dahlen was productive in limited action last year, averaging better than five points and six rebounds for a Devils Lake team that reached the state championship game. At 6-foot-1, she’s got the potential to be a force on the interior and the opportunity to play a big role on this team could benefit her greatly heading into her junior season where she’ll be expected to play a big role.
Neppl and Schwanke were quality pieces for a good Benson County team last year. Neither is a true forward but both have the the length and size to play up a role and defend bigger players. Both handle the ball well and can make plays for their teammates, while excelling as slashers, getting to the rim.
