ND Pro has what should be one of the top 17U teams in the Dakotas this year.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Carlee Sieben, Cassie Sieben, Ryleigh Wacha, Tori Ratz, Haley Reading
Carlee Sieben is coming off an all-state season after leading the Spoilers to the state title game. She’s long, athletic, skilled and smart. Sieben is a solid shooter, excellent facilitator and can defend at a high level.
Cassie Sieben’s been a key piece for the Spoilers each of the last two years and played a huge role in helping them reach the state title game last year as well. She’s an excellent 3-point shooter, a crafty playmaker and an excellent on and off-ball defender.
Wacha earned all-state honors at the Class A level, helping Fargo Davies reach the state semifinals. A stat-sheet stuffer, Wacha scores from all over the floor, makes the game easier for her teammates, rebounds and defends at a high level. She’s one of hte best prospects in North Dakota’s 2021 class.
Ratz is a multi-year starter for Fergus Falls who can really space the floor and get hot from the 3-point line in a hurry. She’s one of the most explosive scorers in the area and could shine in a setting where she’s got solid shot-creators around her. She’s improved as a playmaker as well.
Reading is a 2021 prospect from Hawley who will be potentially stepping into a much larger role in her senior season.
Forwards: Jailyn Martinson, Walker Demers, Sydney Lloyd, Haley Reading, Michaela Dammann
Martinson was an all-EDC player last year and a key influence in helping Devils Lake reach the state championship game. She’s got the size and length to get to the rim and finish at a high rate plus the athleticism to defend multiple positions at a high level.
Demers is playing up two age levels but is one of the best prospects in North Dakota’s 2023 class. At 6-foot-3, she’s a tremendous defensive presence, a strong in and out-of-area rebounder and a solid finisher. Playing against high-end post players will be huge for her development.
Lloyd is a 2021 prospect from Sacred Heart in East Grand Forks and will fill a role on the wing as a defender, finisher and rebounder.
Dammann is one of the top post players in Class AA Minnesota and was a key cog in Sauk Centre’s run to the state tournament. At 6-foot-1, she’s a terrific defender in the paint and finishes effectively at the rim.
