Speaking of positions, Ashlon Jackson Ashlon Jackson 5'10" | SG Hardin Jefferson | 2022 State #22 Nation TX is the #1 player in the 2022 class in Texas, not sure where she is nationally, again I rarely look but Jackson has the ability to play four positions in college, she is a #BCSLock and has WNBA written all over her but here are a few others from the Houston area

Nicole Petrakovitz Nicole Petrakovitz 5'8" | SG Oak Ridge | 2021 State TX (Oak Ridge) Petrakovitz is explosive, her first step, as well as her jumper and ironically I, hadn’t recalled seeing her prior to the Katy Classic back in December, this usually happens when a roster is not provided from club teams but she left a lasting impression after a few minutes. She’s athletic, finishes acrobatically and brings so much energy
Tianna Mathis Tianna Mathis 5'9" | CG Rudder | 2021 State TX (Rudder) Mathis is the straw that stirs the drink and before her video went viral and was featured on ESPN, I had her out there before anyone, simply because I’m always looking for “that player” and after watching her bring “it” numerous times, I knew what I was looking at. She can score multiple ways, mid to long as well as off the dribble yet she rebounds and defends plus handles the ball under pressure
Adaora Nwokeji Adaora Nwokeji 5'7" | CG Summer Creek | 2021 State TX (Summer Creek) Nwokeji is one of those “never takes a play off” types of player which helped lead her team to the playoffs every year she’s been there. She can score off the dribble as well as shoot it from outside but her desire just shows on both ends of the court as she applies pressure on the defensive end as well as taking defenders off the dribble
Briana Peguero Briana Peguero 5'6" | CG Jersey Village | 2021 State TX (Jersey Village) Peguero is one of the most underrated players in the area, not by me, and if you know how to use a search bar on my sites, you’d see what I said about her pre-high school. Her progression each season also stands out, it shows that she works hard on elevating her game just like she elevates on her consistent jumper but that first step sets everything up

Nya Threatt Nya Threatt 5'7" | CG Dulles | 2022 State TX (Dulles) Threatt has been a THREAT from the moment I saw her I guess in the 6th or 7th grade and of course, I said she was a #D1Lock but her poise just stood out at an early age not to mention her BB-IQ as she showed and continues to show that she can get hers in the flow or just take over, mid to long-range or attacking the basket and with her keen court vision, she can dish it out as well
Peyton Overton Peyton Overton 5'7" | CG Dulles | 2022 State TX (Dulles) Overton is another player I caught early that was just “OVER THE TOP” and her athleticism and playing that passing lane sold me on her D1 status to be yet she can score and understands how to set defenders up and with a blink of an eye, she’s gone but she can also shoot the ball from outside and that includes a variety of moves to get open under pressure
Kenna Gibson Kenna Gibson 5'5" | CG Clear Springs | 2022 State TX (Clear Springs) Gibson hit three threes in three different games in one tournament to either seal or win it years ago, yes I remember everything of relevance and that stood out before high school. Now she’s one of the players that you have to pick up immediately because she has range, close to the NBA line, she also does a good job at creating her shot under pressure
2023
Kameryn Phillips Kameryn Phillips 5'8" | CG Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX (Humble) Phillips is one of my earliest #D1Locks, it had to be in n the 4th grade with her playing up two years and just did things instinctively and the way she reacted in certain situations told me a lot. Fast forward to now she helped her high school team pull off some huge wins and sent a message not subliminally that she was one of the girls because she can score in droves multiple ways or just pick and choose
Loghan Johnson Loghan Johnson 5'8" | CG Tompkins | 2023 State TX (Tompkins) Johnson is another player I called D1 to be before high school yet her improvement has already surpassed my expectations. Much of that has to do with here strength which creates problems for defenders because she can overpower players and watching her in the open court is something to see as she’s an “and one” waiting to happen. Throw in her mid to long-range and voila
