What are the stipulations? None, really. Regardless of class and regardless of positions, what our top 10?
#1 Halle Langhi Halle Langhi 6'1" | C Marshall County | 2022 State KY , Marshall County (2022) – She missed her chance to play on the big stage at Rupp Arena due to Covid-19 but Hallie spent her Sophomore season racking up double-doubles and leading her team to a regional championship. If she can continue working on her perimeter game and improving her three point shot, her college stock can take off thanks to her legitimate size and ability.
#2 Saniyah Shelton Saniyah Shelton 5'8" | SG Bowling Green | 2023 State KY , Bowling Green (2023) – Long and athletic, Shelton has a super high upside and three more years to improve. Her Freshman season yielded 13 points and 6 rebounds per game and she’s capable of becoming a 20 and 10 player before her career ends. Already a 31% shooter from deep, if she can push that number closer to 40%, Saniyah can be a huge college recruit.
#3 Destiny Thomas Destiny Thomas 5'10" | SF McCracken County | 2023 State KY , McCracken County (2023) – Another of the top 2023s in the state, Thomas led her team in scoring and rebounding this past season and is already a sniper from deep. Her dad played at Murray State and her brother is a Sophomore for the Racers so you would think she would be an early target for the Racers but her potential could be above the OVC level as she keeps developing her game and adding strength.
#4 Jacqueline Jackson Jacqueline Jackson 5'7" | SG Greenwood | 2021 State KY , Greenwood (2021) – Jackson was primed for a big Junior season when she tore her knee up and missed the entire 2019-2020 season. Prior to that, Jackson had averaged 15 points and pulled down 7 rebounds per game in her Sophomore season. Her early offer came from Western Kentucky and she could rack up more once she’s back to 100%
#5 Camryn LaGrange Camryn LaGrange 5'8" | PG Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2022 State KY , Madisonville North-Hopkins (2022) – One of the top point guards in the 2022 class, Camryn is a top scorer but can also set up her teammates for open shots. She’ll only be a Junior this season but LaGrange could be the top player in the second region and have the Lady Maroons in position to get to Rupp in the spring.
#6 Kelsie Woodard Kelsie Woodard 6'1" | C Menifee County | 2021 State KY , Menifee County (2021) – One of the best true posts in Regions 1-4, Woodard is coming off a season of averaging 17 points and 13 rebounds per game. Kelsie is a back to the basket post but she did take some shots from three last season and could get more looks from downtown next season in an attempt to boost her college stock as a face up 5.
#7 Isabel Grimes Isabel Grimes 5'8" | SG Breckinridge County | 2022 State KY , Breckinridge County (2022) – One of the best shooters in the area, Grimes best basketball still lies ahead of her. She’s a talented scoring guard with a good ceiling. Boasting shooting splits of 41/38/71, Isabel could take the next step in her development by becoming a better free throw shooter as she is one of the best in the state at getting to the free throw line consistently.
#8 Anastasia Dowlen Anastasia Dowlen 6'1" | C Russellville | 2022 State KY , Russellville (2022) – One of the state’s top rebounders in her Sophomore season, Dowlen has a ways to go to reach her full potential, especially on the offensive end. Anastasia is a throw back post with the ability to clean the glass on both ends of the floor and continuing to advance her offensive game.
#9 Meadow Tisdale Meadow Tisdale 5'10" | PF Bowling Green | 2023 State KY , Bowling Green (2023) – Another talented Sophomore for the Lady Purples, Tisdale averaged just under a double-double as a freshman when she had 9.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Her potential could be as high or higher as Saniyah Shelton Saniyah Shelton 5'8" | SG Bowling Green | 2023 State KY ’s if she continues to work on her ball handling and outside shot.
#10 Leia Trinh Leia Trinh 5'6" | CG Greenwood | 2024 State KY . Greenwood (2024) – The lone freshman on the list, Trinh is a big time talent who averaged 16 points per game after having to shoulder the load for the Gators in the wake of Jacqueline Jackson Jacqueline Jackson 5'7" | SG Greenwood | 2021 State KY ’s injury. She is at her best as a slasher but improving as a catch and shoot player also. Once Jackson returns, she and Trinh are one of the best 1-2 punches in the western part of the state.
