Continue Reading2022 High Academic Prospects are now the focus for some schools, they scour the country looking for girls that have a rather high grade point average and the basketball skills to compliment it. These girls all have at least a 3.00 GPA and the skills to go with it, these girls need to be viewed by coaches that believe they need these type of girls to recruit for their programs. We are compiling (5) names per class that have high academic status for coaches to view and decide if they would like to pursue, I really hope you enjoy the evals on the girls as well.
2022, 5’3, PG, Orangewood Academy HS,
Kristal Caldwell

Orangewood Academy | 2022
State
CA
GPA: 3.00; SAT: Pending
Kristal is one of the quickest point guards in this class and she is special, she is a true lefty, but can use her right hand to finish with layups at the rim with contact. She is very smart on the floor, high IQ as they would say, very aggressive and loves to get to the rim and bump girls as she goes up for a basket. Shoots the midrange shot on the pull up and is a consistent three point shooter, you know lefties have sweet shots, right. This kid is also one of the better defender, we know this, because she will sit down and lock you up on the floor and will raise her hand to guard the best player on the other side of the floor.
2022, 5’7, PG, Flintridge Prep Academy HS, Ashlyn Zhang
GPA: 4.08; SAT: Pending
Ashlyn is a crafty left handed point guard with some really good skill set mix in with a stellar approach to the game to win at all cost. She is good off the dribble, she is good going to the rim and finishing, she is a good passer that gives her teammates opportunities to score easy. She is can break down off the dribble and finish at the rim, shoot the floater in traffic, knock down the midrange shot and stroke the three pointer with consistency. She is athletic and can run the floor with her head up to either finish the layup or give her teammate a nice dime to score. She is pretty good and any high academic school looking for a guard should be looking at her, SERIOUSLY……
2022, 5’7, SG, Chaminade College Prep HS, Megan Ortiz
GPA: 4.00; SAT: Pending
Megan is a shooting guard with a nice stroke on her ball that can make the three pointer with or without a defender standing in front of her. She has a solid body type and is a developing defender on the floor for her team, which is good with her playing for such a competitive team as Chaminade HS. She runs the floor pretty good and gets to her spots to make that three pointer, other skills in her game are still developing, but she is a hard worker and will improve each and every game she plays. She will log more minutes with the team this year and it will improve her overall game.
2022, 5’10, SF, Rodriguez HS, Rose Jamison
GPA: 4.17; SAT: Pending
Rose is another specimen we are intrigued with, she is agile, she has great footwork and knows how to use her body to get anywhere on the court. She can knock down the midrange shot from the short corner or get to the rim and finish thru contact. Rose is a dog on the floor and shows it with tenacity and aggression to score the ball or to defend it as well. She runs the floor well, gets to her spot to score and is capable of blocking shots with her length, she is a player in our opinion. This kid is gonna be special down the road, she is still young.

Chaminade Prep | 2022

CA
GPA: 4.10; SAT: Pending
Kayla is a solid point guard with a very high IQ at playing the game, she has had the opportunity to play with seasoned seniors and juniors at Chaminade HS and that has helped her grow as a player each year. She is very coachable and is a very good kid, she is very skilled, can handle it, she can shoot it from all three levels and is a threat to score on the floor with her illusive dribble. Her approach to the game is good as well, she takes to every game like it is her last and she goes out on the floor and gives it her all. She is one of the better young point guards with experience in the class. Expect good things from her this year, time will tell.
