#1 Ndajakalenga Mwenentanda epitomizes agile acrobatic movement. Explosive, high vertical leaps have drawn D-1 coaches into Sioux Falls. Defense and three-ball accuracy works-in-progress. Scored 25-pt in her All-Iowa Attack game at Ames last week, her first AAU outing.
#2 Bella Swedlund scores early and often, more often from deep, but off rim runs, and quick rebounds. Tends to prefer RH, but better in 2020 distributing the rock. Learning defense over time. Great competitive attitude, and work ethic.
#3 Hannah Ronsiek owns great upside potential with her smooth shooting touch, superior floor vision, pinpoint passing, strong defensive positions, and quick steals with snappy transition buckets.
#4 Bailee Sobcak explodes in the low post with agility and keen anticipation. Schools defenders with up-&-under’s, or step back jumpers. Confidence building with one-loss HS season and summer ball successes. Stellar play against quality foes showed upside potential to be significant. Aggressive playmaking and inside strength round out solid prospect
#5 Jayda McNabb exploits foot speed and quickness as an incredible athlete with superior BB IQ. Makes spectacular rebounds, steals, and slashing drives. Ball traps seem a special treat for the turnover-hungry wing, who keeps her head up, looking for opportunities.
#6 Kaela Martinez handled well the pressure defenses that SFR faced all year to score thru contact, and gain assists to moving teammates. She again became a leading scorer on a young squad that needs a Martinez-like focus on summer ball skill building.
#7 Kaycee Groves has the best all-around skill set in this class. She plays every position, 1-to-5, with confidence, boards, defends, scores from all levels, passes with a wrist snap, LH/RH handles, passing, floor IQ, and leadership. Most opposition un-able to match up with her array of ball handling, shooting, BB anticipation, movement, and defensive talents.
#8 Zoey Wohlleber may exhibit the best scoring IQ of all the 2022’s, with deft handles, deceptive directional shifts, and accuracy from everywhere on the court. Splashed treys routinely from NBA range, displayed spectacular assists, and ruined defender’s confidence, shaking them off-balance and grasping thin air.
#9 Kennedy Buchholz again anchored the middle for (likely) state title contenders – only Covid-19 slowed her dominance in the middle. Deft shooting, great positioning, and confidence built thru winning mark
#10 Rylee Rosenquist at 5’9 produced results from the motion, the moves, and flashy versatility at the high post and wing one would expect of a 6-ft-plus power forward. Quickness defined by RR, as in quick release, quick off her feet, quick recognition of opportunities, and quick sprints to defend/attack. In late season versus Lennox, she was everywhere at both ends keeping the Panthers competitive early – a mini-clinic.
Players ranked #11-thru-#26 will be featured in the next release. Also, the 2024’s first rankings’ release will hit PGH Dakota’s in June – stay tuned.
