#2: 2023, 6’3, C, La Jolla Country Day HS, Breya Cunningham Breya Cunningham 6'3" | C La Jolla Country Day | 2023 State #3 Nation CA – Cunningham is in her first year of playing high school basketball, and her talent and skills are very evident. She is a strong interior defender who alters a lot of shots in the paint. She moves her feet well defensively and can keep up with players making moves to the rim. Her length and mobility gave opponents difficulty in the paint.
#6: 2023, 6’2, C, San Joaquin Memorial HS, Meadow Roland Meadow Roland 6'2" | C San Joaquin Memorial | 2023 State CA – This girl is special, with her size, she reminds me of Lisa Leslie with a better jump shot from three from the outside. She blocks shots off the backboard, she ran the floor and finished in transition as well as could run the break herself and make the right play. Very High IQ for a kid this age, she is gonna be fun to watch this year, major upside for this kid.
#9: 2023, 6’2, C, Oaks Christian HS, Omamoke Okah Omamoke Okah 6'4" | C Oaks Christian | 2023 State CA – Young post player that can run the floor, finish at the rim with either hand, blocks shots on a regular for her team. She is still developing on the offensive end of the floor, but her abilities are apparent, she can score it in bunches and is one the better rebounders in the area. She has major upside, but will have to develop that over the shoulder left or right post game. She is young and will improve with leaps and bounds.
#11: 2023, 6’0, C, Valley Christian HS, Olive Batch Olive Batch 6'0" | C Raymond J Fisher MS | 2023 State CA – Long and lanky forward/center type with a nice stroke on her three pointer, sort of a high arc on it, but it goes in, she is a decent rebounder and can run the floor very well and finish at the rim as well. She is developing into a good perimeter player, but with the addition of the swing thru attack the rim skills and some mismatches in the paint with smaller opponents this girl will be hard to stop.
#24: 2023, 6’0, C, Lynwood HS, Lauren Bernardez Lauren Bernardez 6'0" | C Lynwood HS | 2023 State CA – Big with some paint skills, she can finish in the paint if given the ball down low, sets good screens and is a good shot blocker. Runs the floor well and is considered a decent rebounder being a young big in the making. Expect things from this girl, Coach Ellis develops his kids year end and out.
