I was able to attend this national showcase hosted by Dan Olson from ESPN Hoopgurlz, the event hosted players from over 15 states across the country and had classes represented from 2022 – 2026 in the gym. The event was broken up into 3 sessions and I will be focusing on the groups individually.
Session 1 – Class of 2023 Players
- Courtney Ogden Courtney Ogden 6'1" | SF Westminster School | 2023 State #7 Nation GA – 6’0” – Wing – Westminster School – FBC Family (GA) – Athletic player that has a high skill level and is a 3 level scorer, has developed her handle extremely well over the last year. Is a Big time recruit in the 2023 Class nationally.
- Drew Alexander – 5’10” – Guard – Cary – Lady Phoenix (NC) – Skilled player that has a quick release and ability to be primary scorer, played extremely well on the defensive end of the court during game play. Great shot form and range, can score the basketball from all points of the floor.
- Erica Moon – 5’6” – Guard – St Francis – Essence Extreme (GA) – Extremely talented player that can operate as a lead guard or a perimeter scorer. Consistent shooting form and range to beyond the 3-Pt line, high level passer and court vision.
- Kendahl Spearman – 5’6” – Guard – Greenwood HS – Aja Wilson Elite (SC) – Outstanding 2 way guard that handled herself very well in this environment, attacked the rim and finished in traffic. Outstanding defensive player that showcased her skills. Showed that she can compete at an Elite level throughout game play.
- Olivia Fuller – 5’10” – Wing – Clearwater – Tampa Thunder (FL) – High level athlete that played with a motor that could not stop, was able to score on the interior and perimeter evenly. I was impressed by her defensive skills and communication on the court.
- Jordyn Griggs Jordyn Griggs 6'1" | SG Montverde Academy | 2023 State FL – 6’1” – Wing – Mater Dei – West Coast Premier (CA) – Long, Athletic player that can score the basketball at all 3 levels of play, her versatility is her best asset, is a matchup problem on the court. Attacked the rim very well and was able to operate as a rim protector during game play.
- Jade Tillman Jade Tillman 6'2" | PF Good Counsel | 2023 State MD – 5’10” – Wing – St. Johns – GTS Fusion (DC) – The breakout performer of the 2023 class during the 1st session, was able to score on the block and mid-range consistently. Slasher that finished in heavy traffic multiple times throughout game play. Very strong ball handler and passing ability, solid perimeter defender.
