Continue ReadingCompete Athletics Basketball Club (CABC) is a collection of some of the top players in Kitsap County. Director Chris Koebelin has been working hard for several years trying to level up the basketball culture in Bremerton, Silverdale, Port Orchard, Gig Harbor and surrounding areas. The 16u team consists of prospects in the 2022 and 2023 classes.
The CABC 16u team is led by Coach Josh Matthews who has a really strong passion for growing the game in Kitsap County, as displayed in his resume with coaching stops at Bremerton and Central Kitsap High School. Coach Mattews has has taken a hands on approach with the development of the players on these teams over the years and plans to do the same with the CABC teams.
CABC 16u Roster
2022 5’10 PF Peyton Byrd (South Kitsap HS) – A load inside and very strong, able to rebound against bigger opponents with great footwork and body control. Has a soft touch on offense to finish at the basket as well.
2022 5’5 G Hailey Carroll (Central Kitsap HS) – A fast guard with good range who can shoot the 3 and is a good ball handler against pressure.
2023 5’6 G Breanna Viergutz (South Kitsap HS) – Has grown tremendously over the past year and is one of the team’s better defenders. Can handle it and shoot with range from all over.
2023 Aly Loudermilk (South Kitsap HS) – Tough and durable point guard who has a great motor, is a consistent shooter from 3, and continues to learn from her club teammates. Tireless worker of her game!
2023 5’4 PG Sahara Soufi (Central Kitsap HS) – Sahara is one of the top shooters on the 16u team, and has an improved handle allowing her to break down defenders and attack off the bounce.
2023 5’6 SG Rowyn Orser (Peninsula HS) – A player that has continued to improve a lot over the course of the last year. Solid shooting ability and some untapped potential.
2023 5’2 PG Mailli Bode (Olympic HS) – A deadeye shooter who came into her own this past year as a point guard and primary ball handler for the 16U team.
2023 5’4 G Brookelynn Hartford (Olympic HS) – Brookelynn is an energy and effort player with great intangibles. Another young player that is continuing to improve in her all around game.
Tentative Schedule:
CABC 16u is looking at playing in the Nike TOC event in Phoenix, Arizona in July, but it is yet to be confirmed at this stage.
