Aaliyah Moore (Texas)
I remember the first time I saw this young lady from Oklahoma back in 2014 and my exact words were “I don’t know if this Aaliyah can sing but she’ definitely going to be a hit” and as usual, I was correct as she scored basically at will, her athleticism was on full display as she even stepped out and played the passing lane but that desire will make an immediate impact with the Longhorns. I guess even more important is the fact that she showed progression every season and when you have the talent and work ethic….
Amani Bartlett Amani Bartlett 6'1" | PF Houston Christian | 2021 State #88 Nation TX (Syracuse)
Bartlett has always brought it on both ends and when she decided on Tennessee as an 8th grader, she shot up the charts yet she’s also a perfect example of how the politics and agendas work with some but her performance since coming back from an injury shows her commitment on being the best she can be. The midrange was clicking, as well as her attacking from the wing but the effort in the paint, on both ends, showed she was back and with a vengeance
Nyah Wilson Nyah Wilson 5'9" | CG Duncanville | 2021 State TX (Syracuse)
Wilson helped lead Duncanville to a state championship (UIL 6A) and was instant offense off the bench as one of the teams leaders in scoring. I remember seeing her running around the gym watching her older twin sisters and absorbing everything on the court, that as well as a growth spurt has helped take her game to another level as she can create off the dribble, the mid to long is consistent and her acrobatic finishes, after contact, was on full display on opening day
Kyndall Hunter Kyndall Hunter 5'8" | SG Cypress Creek | 2021 State #23 Nation TXHunter is one of the top uncommitted guards in the country and watching her drop the long ball from various area codes showed fits because colleges from everywhere are on her. If you didn’t get that analogy, it’s early but speaking of early, Hunter was scoring at will off the top on opening day at She’s Ballin Extravaganza. Her midrange has even gotten better and with her first step, she keeps defenders guessing because if you pressure her too much on the 3 ball, she has options including being an “and one” waiting to happen
Desiree Wooten Desiree Wooten 5'9" | SG Mansfield Timberview | 2022 State TXWooten is the lone 2022 on the squad and as much as I liked her last season on DFW 16U EYBL squad, I simply loved what she showed on yesterday. Her release is quick and she understands how to create her shot under pressure. She uses her athleticism very well, she’s under control with the ball, hits teammates under pressure but watching her score “in the flow” was equally fulfilling as she has definitely elevated her status because the mid to long and off the dribble are pretty impressive
