Great 8 Showcase: Friday Standouts
We were at the Great 8 Showcase on Friday evening and watched quite a few of the younger high school kids. With an abbreviated AAU season, every game is critical. For a few teams, their AAU season kicked off at the Great 8 Showcase hosted by All Iowa Attack. Below you can find our ten standouts from Friday afternoon/night at the event.

Chappell played very well today on the ball. She is a very good defender and plays tough at all times on the floor. Chappell was the smallest player on the floor but she crashed the boards very hard today. Solid court general who was able to get the ball up the floor and into the hands of shooters. Chappell is really going to help out a small college in the future.

Nichols consistently proves that she is one of the most athletic players in the entire state. She got to the rim with the ball really well but she also was able to hit the jumper both behind the arc and in the mid-range. She is a very solid wing who can handle the ball well or slash off the wing to the basket. At the next level she’ll be a very versatile piece. Committed to Sioux Falls.

Madison showed a much quicker first step and was continuously being her man off the dribble. She had the ability to get to the rim whenever she wanted to and was unstoppable at times. She shot the ball really well from beyond the arc and pushed the ball up the floor quickly. It was one of the best games of the day by an individual.
Audrey Deptula – 2023 – Middleton HS –
Wisconsin Flight Elite
UAA 2023
Deptula was very good on Friday evening and she was one of the most energetic players that I saw all day long. She was scoring the ball at all three levels and doing it with swagger. Her teammates seem to feed off her confidence and every time Flight made a run, Deptula was at the forefront of it. She’s a very intriguing versatile wing.

Noelck continued where she left off in the state tournament as she nailed a couple of 3-pointers and got to the rim easily. She has gotten a bit more athletic and looks much better with the ball in her hands. I think she is best on the wing or in an off-ball role but she is comfortable with the ball in her hands. Noelck has gotten better and I think she will continue to do so the next few years.

– 2023 – Appleton East HS – Wisconsin Flight UAA 2023
Beyer put together a very strong performance from the lead guard spot on Friday. She was able to score at all three levels really well and showed off a really nice step-back jumper with the ability to hit from well beyond the arc. I was impressed with her ability to get to her spot anytime she wanted on the offensive end. Defensively she brings energy every trip down the floor.
Kennedy Holmes – 2024 – DSHA HS –
Wisconsin Flight Elite
UAA 2023
Holmes is playing up with a very solid 2023 UAA team. She fits right in with her toughness and skill getting to the basket. She uses her body well to shield the defender from blocking the shot as she drives into the lane. Holmes is an advanced guard for her age and will only get better as she progresses through high school
Ella Sharar – 2024 – Iowa Falls HS – All Iowa Attack Nike Black 2024
Sharar was stellar the entire game for All Iowa Attack. She continually displayed high basketball IQ by passing the ball but also cutting to the basket to get open. She used both hands well to score at the rim and grabs rebounds off the rim even if they aren’t in her space. She can play almost any spot on the floor with her athleticism but is likely best on the wing as a slasher right now.
Kennedy Van Vark – 2024 – Pella HS – All Iowa Attack Nike Black 2024
Van Vark set the tone quickly in the early going of the game with her speed on the offensive end of the floor. She is a tough-nosed player who gets to the rim in many different ways. She can score right at it but she also showed the ability to hit floaters from every angle. She plays hard every time on the floor and she’ll quickly become an impact guard for Pella.
Callie Levin – 2024 – Solon HS – All Iowa Attack Nike Red 2024
Levin was playing hard from the tip on Friday night. She is a very solid guard who can play spots 1-3 with ease. She’s an athletic and long player who uses her speed to her advantage. She isn’t afraid to pull the trigger as she shot multiple times from 3-4 feet behind the arc. If she continues to develop then she will be a force at Solon.
