Their are some talented players on this roster that contributed as freshmen for their high schools teams. This opportunity to play in the summer will be a great chance for them to continue their development and prepare for big sophomore seasons in school ball. The team is coached by Dave Tingley from Paris. Here is a look at the roster.
- #3 Trinity Tingley Trinity Tingley 5'5" | PG Paris | 2023 State IL is a 5’6 2023 Point Guard from Paris. Trinity is a “true Point guard”. She is a coaches daughter and knows the game and what the coach wants to see on the floor and can get her team into those spots. Trinity handles the ball and passes the ball well and has very good court vision. She has worked hard on her 3-point shot and can be a dangerous shooter if given space.
- #13 Gracie Heckert Gracie Heckert 5'9" | SG Beecher | 2023 State IL is a 5’8 2023 Guard from Beecher City. Gracie is a tall and long guard that can play the point and also play off the ball. She can shoot very consistently from the 3-point line which helps create driving opportunities as teams have to respect her shot. Gracie is a willing passer and believes her height plays a big part in her ability to see the open player versus the shorter guards.
- #14 Preslee Michael Preslee Michael 5'7" | CG Terre Haute North Vigo | 2023 State IN is a 5’7 2023 Guard from Terre Haute, In. Preslee is a strong guard with a well defined build for a girl her age. She can score by hitting the 3-point shot or driving past you if you try to get tight on her. Presless competes well and is not afraid on the court, she plays hard and with confidence.
- #23 Alycia Triplett Alycia Triplett 5'11" | PF Fishers | 2023 State IN is a 5’11 2023 Forward from Charleston. Alycia is a very strong and versatile inside and outside player. Against younger or smaller competition Alycia will dominate inside with her strength and high motor. Alycia can also step away from the basket and beat you off the dribble. She has a good first step and will control defenders with her strength on the way to the rim.
- #24 Faith Fleetwood is 5’8 2023 Guard from Vincennes, In.Faith is a very hard worker that has earned the praises of the coaches for her improvement over the past season. She is very long and can shoot the 3-point shot. Faith has really improved her ability to drive with a nice shot fake move and a jab step move.
- #25 Rilee Riggs Rilee Riggs 6'3" | C Mt Carmel | 2023 State IL is a 6’3 2023 Post from Mt. Carmel. Rilee is a very long and lean post player. She has a knack for blocking shots and protecting the paint. Rilee has a nice shooting touch when she has some space to get off the 10-15 foot shot. As she continues to get stronger her inside scoring game will improve. She has nice moves in the paint and will be a good scorer as she improves her ability to work through the contact.
- #33 Kendra Young Kendra Young 6'0" | SF Paris | 2023 State IL is 6’0 2023 Wing from Paris. Kendra is a long wing that plays with a shooters mentality. She can hit from anywhere on the floor so Kendra works to find spots to catch and shoot. Kendra can also use her length to cause problems on the defensive end against the wings that cannot see over her.
- #45 Addie Wright Addie Wright 6'0" | C Oakwood | 2023 State IL is a 6’0 2023 Post from Oakwood. Addie is a very strong post player that can use that to get position in the lane for scoring chances. Her physical strength is important to her game as it allows Addie the ability to control players that are possibly as tall as her but often cannot match her strength. Offensively Addie played more of a high post spot as a freshman so she has developed a comfort level with the 15 foot shot.
There is talent on this team that certainly projects to the next level. With two posts at 6ft or better, a potential excellent stretch 4,excellent shooters with size and high level guards this is a team that should attract plenty of attention by college recruiters over the next few years.
