Top 5 2021’s In Genesee County
Kent County is loaded with high school basketball talent. That being said, it’s interesting to look at the county’s top 4 prospects in the class of 2023.
#4
Grace Doherty (PG, Forest Hills Eastern)
Even as a freshman floor general, Doherty was a consistent scoring option for Forest Hills Eastern. She has good vertical movement and can play at any pace.
#3
Cadence Dykstra (PG, West Catholic)
Dykstra is the real deal as a freshman guard. She is very poised with the ball for a young player. Dykstra is a steady ball handler that has an understanding of where and when the ball needs to move. She can hit shooters and cutters with accurate passes. Dykstra has a very mature all-around game.
#2
McKenna Ferguson (SG, Byron Center)
Ferguson is skilled beyond her years as a basketball player. She’s a tough and physical athlete that can play through contact. Ferguson has a solid jumper that she can release over top of most defenders. She was a very consistent shooter and scorer, especially for a freshman.
#1
Macy Brown (CG, East Grand Rapids)
Brown is an elite talent in the freshman class. She plays with a grittiness that most players her age just can’t match. Brown will hit the floor, be physical, and win hustle points for her team. Brown is a silky smooth lefty that can get a shot off in traffic. If she gets a defender on her hip going to the left on a dribble drive…..Game over. Brown is a solid shooter from deep, and when she gets hot, it rips through the bottom of the net.
