Aubrey Metzger (Cy Fair Elite 16U National Dallas) grandfather Roger, was a Golden Gloves shortstop for the Astros when I was kid, I remember everything so I had to catch their game against Texas Phenoms Red and I got some surprises
Cy Fair Elite 16U National Dallas
Aubrey Metzger (The Colony)
’23 Metzger has good size and length, reacts well on defense, and has good timing which enables her to alter shots. Also rebounds on both ends of the court and finishes in the paint
Bailey Broughton (Lake Dallas)
’22 Broughton caught my eye during the Christmas tournament trifecta and she’s a heady guard that understands how to run a team, good ball handler and shooter
Brianna Bowden (Allen)
’23 Bowden’s upside is huge, big, and strong, she finishes powerfully in the paint and having good hands and footwork is another plus. She rebounds well and defends strongly in the paint
Makenna Walker (Greenville)
’22 Walker is a scoring machine and watching her acrobatic finishes after attacking the basket was as impressive as her pull-up jumper but she also had one of the best blocks in the tournament and she plays the passing lane
Texas Phenoms Red
Jon’Toyrian McNeal (Livingston)
’22 McNeal is powerful on the inside and she understands how to use her body to score. One play added an exclamation point when she had to block of the day and grabbed it out of mid-air after elevating off the ground with authority
Ariel Williams (Barbie HS)
’23 Williams is from Louisiana and when I write ULTRA, that means she’s more than just athletic and watching her slice to the basket from the wing for baskets were nice as well as what she showed in the open court but she understands the importance of playing the passing lane
Janiaya Johnson (Heights)
’22 Johnson has good athleticism and understands what and how to apply pressure on defense but she also knows how to attack the basket and finish after contact but the more I watched her, the more her upside stood out
Simran Williams Simran Williams 5'7" | SG North Shore | 2024 State TX (North Shore)
’24 Williams will make a statement when she enters high school, she’s already made one for me to add her to the WATCHLIST but her scorer’s mentality will definitely come in handy
McKenzie Deville (Hamilton Christian Academy)
’24 Deville is from Louisiana and I’ve already stated if she was in Texas, she too would be added to the WATCHLIST. I love seeing players show me things “you can’t teach” and by her doing things instinctively on both ends and the way she reacts in certain situations tells me a lot
Ruke Ogbevire (Dean Leaman Jr. High)
’25 Ogbevire made a Tip Sheet the first time I saw her and so did her sister ’23 Ese Ogbevire Ese Ogbevire 5'7" | PG Fulshear | 2023 State TX (Fulshear) who is already on the WATCHLIST and baby sister will be right behind her. Poised and explosive playing against HIGH SCHOOL players, “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” is how I evaluate and her upside has me thinking OMG
