2023 Standouts
Reilly Clark (5’10’’, Catalina Foothills, PG)
Clark was the AIA Freshman of the year and she continues to add something to her game every time we get a chance to see her perform. She is a going to be an elite shooter with great length and she has the decision making and ball handling abilities to run the point guard position at a high level. Clark is going from un-ranked to highly ranked in our next update.
Amalie Buffill (5’7’’, Sabino, PG)
Buffill has gotten much quicker and faster this summer and it showed during the showcase games. She is a good athlete who grew a little since the completion of the high school season and her in game decisions has improved a ton. With the departure of Sabino’s top 3 scorers from last year’s team, Buffill will be counted on to run the point.
Hanna Alvarez (5’5’’, Horizon, PG)
Alvarez has tremendous vision and court awareness. She is able to see plays before they happen and she is as unselfish as they come. Alvarez has good range on her jumper and she pushes the ball downhill very well. Alvarez play increases as the competition increases. She is a gamer. (Traveled from Phoenix)
Katie Burns (5’5’’, Catalina Foothills, PG)
Burns had an outstanding freshman year at Catalina Foothills which earned her a spot on the 4A Kino All Region Second team. She has always been a solid game manager and an extension of the coach on the floor, but Burns was attacking the basket more in the showcase games. Burns is developing into an all around effective point guard and we are excited to continue to follow her development.
Aaliyah Lin (5’8’’, Sabino, 2G/W)
Lin didn’t get much playing time on Sabino’s championship team but that is about to change this upcoming year. She has a great frame for the position that will allow her to get bigger and stronger as she continues her high school career. Lin just needs more experience but he is a diamond in the rough.
Gabi Delgado (5’3’’, Palo Verde, PG)
First time viewing of Delgado and I came away impressed. She is a smaller lead guard who uses her size and speed to her advantage. On the offensive end, Delgado displayed an effective mid range jumper and she was a terror in the open court. She was not afraid to mix it up on the defensive end while guarding bigger players. Delgado earned 2nd Team All Region (4A Gila) starting for the Titans as a freshman.
2024 Standouts
Sierra Bomhower (5’8’’, Cibola, CG)
Bomhower is improving by leaps and bounds and her body type indicates that there will be continued growth. She was a little hesitant in her first showcase game but she came on strong in her next 2 games. Bomhower plays well in a system offense so she had to figure out how to contribute in a showcase environment. Bomhower’s jumper is pure, her handle is effective and she has a high ceiling due to her length and deceptive athleticism. She is a definite sleeper in the class and getting better with every event. (Traveled from Yuma)
Jocelyn Chavez Jocelyn Chavez 4'0" | C La Joya Community | 2023 AZ (5’9’’, Dysart, CG)
Chavez continues to perform at a high level. She elevates her game when it counts most and she has unlimited range on her jumper. When Chavez does drive to the basket, she drives hard and she finishes well in traffic. She is a big body point guard that is built to make an immediate impact at the high school level next year. I would surprised if Chavez is not one of the state’s leading scorers in the upcoming season. Chavez is one of the top two or three 2024 players in the state. (Traveled from Phoenix)
Taylee Stuebs (5’5’’, Cibola, CG)
Stuebs played very aggressively and was going hard all day on Saturday. She showcased a very nice jumper that she was able to hit from all three levels on the floor. Stuebs is an improving lead guard with some good upside. She is a member of the very talented group of 2024s that are headed to Cibola. All Stuebs needs is more experience and she will be a fine college prospect by her junior year. (Traveled from Yuma)
Taliah Henderson (5’10’’, Cienega, CG)
Henderson has a chance to a big time nationally ranked layer before she leaves Cienega. Although she is still a little raw, she has great length and she is an exception athlete. Henderson is one of those players that no mater who is on the court, she thinks she is the best player. She takes chances and she is not afraid to fail. Henderson just has to skill up a little and she will be unstoppable. Remember the name.
Melia Graham (5’4”, Hamilton, CG)
Graham is originally from the Tucson area and she will heading to tradition rich Hamilton for her freshman year. She is a glue type player who makes sure everyone is engaged and involved. Graham makes all the hustle plays and she does things that does not show up in the box scores. Whatever you need, Graham is intent on delivering.
Middle School Standouts
Jolee Nelson (Tucson, 2025) – Smooth PG who moves well around the court. Makes good decisions and she has a high basketball IQ. High potential and talented.
Kira Johnson (Sierra Vista, 2026) – Showed that she is a leader…even at such a young age. Johnson was one of the smaller players at the camp but she is fearless and really loves to play the game. Nice understanding of the game. High potential and talented.
