Continue ReadingWith the delayed start to summer ball many players are now in a position where their opportunities to play club ball, attend high school workouts and team camps, attend individual camps, and otherwise work to get better and be seen doing it have been substantially reduced. Many clubs are still in organizing and practice mode. College coaches are scrambling to find ways to see players, including via live streaming. In this article I take a look at a group of unranked bigs who have some things to show to help them gain attention.
Rakailah Hill, 6’1″, C/PF, Wichita Southeast — Hill has good size and length. She’s raw athletic and has good north-south transition speed. A very defensively active banger. Need to see her handles and offensive game develops.
Allison Bryan, 6’0″, PF, Olathe West – The back-up post has good size. Would like to see more transition speed, quicker feet, and more floor time to see what she can do in the brutal Sunflower League.
Maci Claycamp, 5’11″, F, Circle, Kansas United – 2020 AVCTL Div III second team. A stretch four possibility, she runs the floor well and can take the ball the length of the floor. Is able to finish and block shots with either hand. Claycamp is a solid interior passer including off the high-low game and has good hands on the receiving end of it.
Abby Dunsmore, 6’0″, PF, St. James Academy – 2020 Eastern Kansas League honorable mention. Her high school coach described her as a hard working, versatile player. A shot blocker.
Roslyn Sisson, 6’1″, C, Sante Fe Trail — Sisson has good size, length, and strength. A shot blocker, she averaged 2.7 points; 7.4 rebounds; 2.2 assists; and 2.4 blocks in 2020. Need to see more offense and elevation.
