I was able to attend the NTBA (National Travel Basketball Association) Girls National Championships in Myrtle Beach and caught the Carolina Lynx 17 U team. I was very impressed with the growth of the players individually and also how they performed as a team, I will be looking at the players I believe played extremely well during the 4 day tournament.
Results
- The team finished up the tournament 3 – 1 falling in the Semi-Finals to eventual Champion Attack Elite 17U 61 – 54 in a well played game.
- 2021 – 5’4” – Guard – Diamond Thomas Diamond Thomas 5'4" | PG Knightdale | 2021 NC – Knightdale HS (NC) – Dynamic scoring point guard that can fill it up, strong handle that can create her own shot, 1 of the top available Guards in her 2021 Class.
- 2021 – 5’9” – Wing – Mikayla Harris – Southeast Raleigh HS (NC) – Extremely athletic player that can attack the rim from anywhere on the court, rebounds over taller players. Outstanding defensive player that can block shots.
- 2021 – 6’2” – Post – Syniah McMiller – Harnett Central HS (NC) – Rim protector that is a tremendous interior scorer, High IQ player that competes at a high level. Player that will make an impact on the collegiate level.
- 2021 – 5’6” – Guard – Ashlee Allen – Southeast Raleigh HS (NC) – Skilled point guard that can run the team and add scoring, strong ball handler that has great court vision and passing ability, perimeter defender.
- 2021 – 5’10” – Forward – Tamsi Escendu – Southeast Raleigh HS (NC) – Physical interior scorer that showed a nice mid-range jump shot during their run to the Semi-Finals High IQ player that can pass out of the post.
