Prep Hoops had previously ranked the top players in the Class of 2021. With a full high school season and half an aau season occurred since the updates- these players stock continued to rise. Below is an update on where the latest Top 5 players are in their recurring and skill today.
Maddy Schreiber Maddy Schreiber 6'0" | CG Kimberly | 2021 State WI | 6’0 CG | Kimberly | WI Flight Elite
Schreiber continues to live up to her hype as a versatile combo guard who can do it all for her team. She can guard 1-5 and uses her body well inside to fight for power and on the perimeter to altar shots. At 6 feet tall, Schrieber has very strong ball handling skills and isn’t frazzled by any high pressure defense opponents may play. She has a great shot selection. When the ball is in her hands, finding the open shot comes almost effortless. A smooth perimeter shooter as well, the Kimberly standout knocks it down with ease in transition. The Kimberly standout is committed to UW Green Bay.
Matyson Wilke Matyson Wilke 5'10" | CG Beaver Dam | 2021 State #57 Nation WI | 5’10 CG | Beaver Dam | North Tartan
Wilke is the number one player in the 2021 class and has still not committed to where she may be playing basketball next fall. She continued to add to her skill during the high school season and is thriving playing for North Tartan. The starting point guard is long and lanky, with great stability and balance to her game. Watching Wilke, she is doing a tremendous job of grabbing boards inside the lane and is adding some strength to her defense. A knock down perimeter shooter and mid-range specialist, Wilke brings so much to the table.
Chloe Van Zeeland Chloe Van Zeeland 6'1" | PF Kaukauna | 2021 State WI | 6’1 PF | Kaukauna | WI Flight Elite
A strong power forward for both squads she competes on, Van Zeeland can stretch the floor or pack the paint. She is continuing to develop her perimeter comfort and becoming more confident with the ball in her hands. She runs so well in transition and thrives off of put back rebounds. A defensive specialist as well having Van Zeeland in the lane for your team is a weapon any team would love. Van Zeeland has committed to Illinois State.
Bailey Butler Bailey Butler 5'7" | PG Black Hawk | 2021 State WI | 5’7 CG | Black Hawk | Wisconsin Academy
The high scoring guard continues to have a tremendous grassroots season with her Wisconsin Academy team. She consistently puts up huge offensive numbers and gets to the basket with ease. She is continuing to get stronger, more fluid and more consistent on both ends of the court. A triple threat on the floor, Butler can score by driving through traffic, pulling up mid range or knocking it down from deep. She is committed to UW Green Bay.
Callie Genke Callie Genke 6'0" | SG Freedom | 2021 State WI | 6’0 PF | Freedom | Midwest Elite
Genke is a player whose ceiling is so high for the next level. A sturdy and athletic base- Genke uses her body exceptionally well on both ends of the floor. An impact rebounder as well, Genke does a great job of fighting for position, grabbing a board and using her speed to chase loose boards. After holding multiple division 1 offers, Genke chose to continue her career at UW Green Bay.
