Continue ReadingThis was a solid mix of six players I had already seen, well with the exception of one but the other five raised their bars as far as I’m concerned and remember, it’s all about progression with me because if you’re not getting better, someone will sneak from behind and catch you, this is something that players and parents should already know yet with the abundance of misinformation that comes in the package. let me reiterate it again, talent is everywhere so keep bringing and you never know who’s watching, there are other knowledgeable evaluators other than myself but here’s my six
Cacie Chatman-6’3 P
Chatman gave me a nice intro to what she brings to the table and of course, 75 inches definitely had my eyes on her from the beginning, especially with her frame that uses so well but watching her move around the floor, even stepping out of the paint to defend were definite pluses to go with strong rebounding, on both ends of the court and finishing after the lick over and over
Breelyn Sanborn Breelyn Sanborn 6'0" | CG St Pius | 2022 State TX -6’1 F
Sanborn has made me more than a believer after catching her more times the past three months than her entire career combined and when you factor in her size and ability to not only shoot but stretch the defense and bring teams out of the zone, college coaches have several things they love to see and big guards that can shoot are one of them. I have her listed as a forward but she can definitely play the 2/3 in the right system
Sydney Ward Sydney Ward 6'0" | SF The Village School | 2022 State TX -6’0 F
Ward was everything I’ve been saying about her and if they were auditioning for Spiderwoman, she would have been a finalist for the part because she’s long and athletic, that’s the base, and she was playing the passing lane to perfection going the other way for layups but her web of defense didn’t stop there as she applied pressure from baseline to baseline so just watching her drop the mid to long-range and defy gravity going to the basket for buckets was neat
Raeven Boswell-5’11
Boswell looked like more than just a next-level player this time as she turned it completely on to elevate past #D1Lock status. She too is long and athletic and two very important things grabbed at me, watching her set defenders up in the half-court and attacking the basket, finishing acrobatically or rebounding going coast to coast for baskets but she was draining the mid to long-range
Susie McCormick Susie McCormick 5'9" | SF Regents | 2022 State TX -5’10 F
McCormick has the right name because she added spice handling the ball under pressure, zig-zagging past defenders, and the seasoning was on as well because that pull-up was smoking. She creates her shot nicely while being defended tightly and she understands how to set the defender up to attack the rim or take the jumper but either way, she definitely was cooking
Savannah Wilson-6’2 P
Wilson has that college-ready body right now and she has made strides since the last time I saw her because she’s more mobile and her agility has also taken off and even though, rebounding stood out the first few times I caught her, she’s doing it even better by understanding positioning better but she’s running the floor, after the rebound and finishing strongly after contact
