While that is very impressive, what is even more impressive is that these players have all shown plenty of passing ability and racked up lots of assists. This shows exceptional maturity and basketball IQ which should bode well for the rest of their careers.
Triniti Ralston Triniti Ralston 5'7" | PG Sacred Heart | 2023 State KY , Sacred Heart- Serving as the facilitator for one of the state’s top teams last season, Ralston likely would have been towards the top of the assists leaderboard in the entire state last season among players of all ages. She has all the tools one could want out of a point guard, initiating the offense and setting up her elite teammates for great shots.
Haven Ford Haven Ford 5'5" | CG Rowan County | 2023 State KY , Rowan County- One of the top overall prospects in the state, it’s no surprise that passing is one of Ford’s many skills. While she also serves as a primary scorer, Ford also sets up teammates for open shots, frequently using her own scoring threat to help open up her teammates. She has also shown a great basketball IQ, which further helps her make excellent passes.
Macy Runner Macy Runner 5'6" | PG Nelson County | 2023 State KY , Nelson County- Another player who possesses all the skills one could want from a point guard, Runner excels at creating offense. She has shown off some great passing skills in transition and the half-court, already doing a great job running the offense. She should rack up even more assists as she continues to refine her skills.
Abby Holtman Abby Holtman 5'11" | SF Ryle | 2023 State KY , Ryle- Like other players in this series, Holtman fits into the role of someone who racks up plenty of assists thanks in large part to the great talent she plays with. Nonetheless, Holtman has shown plenty of passing skills that go beyond what one might expect of a player her age and even ran the offense at times for a loaded Lady Raiders team. It will be interesting to see what role she fits into next year with even more responsibility.
Kaela Ballard Kaela Ballard 6'1" | CG Portland Christian | 2023 State KY , Southern- Forced into more of a scoring role thanks to the lack of other options on her team, Ballard has nonetheless shown some top-notch playmaking skills. A do-it-all player, she set up plenty of open shots for her teammates as well as scoring to generate offense last season. She may even be a better passer than a scorer, and if the talent she plays with can improve, expect her to be near the top of the state in assists.
