One conference in particular that has been consistent in all of the recent news is the Big Sky Conference. A handful of girls attend Big Sky schools every year from Washington, as this state has a lot of mid-major Division 1 prospects that fit that level. Two different players in close proximity picked up Big Sky offers and they were publicly reported on July 2nd.
2022 5’7 PG Rosa Smith Rosa Smith 5'7" | PG Lake Washington | 2022 State WA of Lake Washington High School received her offer from Eastern Washington University. The KingCo Conference standout is skilled, smart and crafty on the court as displayed at the 3A state tournament where she helped Lake Washington to a state runner-up finish before falling to Garfield in the title game. Smith is an all around solid and complete player. She currently ranks as the number 14 overall 2022 prospect in Washington and and number three point guard for the class. Eastern Washington is fresh off of a commitment from 2021 point guard Andie Zylak Andie Zylak 5'7" | PG Lewis and Clark | 2021 State WA of Lewis and Clark High School, but followed that up with an offer for Smith. The point guard position is an obvious major target for the upcoming high school classes and EWU is off to a good start with Zylak already giving a verbal pledge to the program. Eastern Washington is Rosa Smith Rosa Smith 5'7" | PG Lake Washington | 2022 State WA ’s first offer to date. She plays her club ball for the Eastside Basketball Club (EBC).
2022 6’4 PF Lauren Glazier Lauren Glazier 6'4" | PF Mt. Si | 2022 State WA from Mount Si High School is a fellow KingCo Conference participant and less than 40 minutes away from Smith. Glazier is rangy, long and very mobile in her 6’4 frame. She prefers to play on the wing and attack out of a triple threat facing the basket more than a back to the basket type of game. The 6’4 forward currently ranks as the number eight overall player in Washington’s 2022 class and she is the number one power forward prospect in the state. She took to twitter to announce her first Division 1 offer from the University of Montana. The Lady Griz have an almost exclusive northwest region roster with a majority in-state players, as well as two Oregon kids, one Idaho native and two Washington players in Carmen Gfeller (2018 Colfax HS) Joelnell Momberg Joelnell Momberg 5'8" | PG Mead | 2020 State WA (2020 Mead HS). Montana is known for its long and rangy wing-forwards and Glazier fits the script in that regard. She plays her club basketball with the Northwest Blazers.
