Obviously, these regions will change into next season but for these stories it was the easiest way to divide players and teams as equally as possible.
We will be writing a series of three stories for each region in the state and the categories are as follows: 2023’s to put on Your Radar, 2022’s who can Breakout, and 2021’s Who Should be Valued by Colleges.
We will continue to go through each region and aim to hit as many players as we can that we haven’t talked about previously. Here are five 2023’s who need to be on your radar.
Tayler Reaves – Center Point-Urbana
It was another banner season for Center Point-Urbana, as they went 22-3 and reached the Class 4A state semifinals.
The Stormin’ Pointers will see four players leave due to graduation, meaning some holes need to be filled. Class of 2023’s Tayler Reaves showed she is ready to step in.
Reaves produced 98 points with 34 rebounds, 28 assists and 13 steals while playing in 24 games. She shot just over 38 percent from the field and buried 25 three-pointers, which ranked second on the team.
Claire Ridenour – West Delaware
West Delaware’s Claire Ridenour had no troubles competing inside the paint as a newcomer last year.
Ridenour played in 19 games, scoring 62 points with 44 rebounds, 10 assists and seven steals for the Hawks. She shot just under 32 percent from the field and made 62 percent of her free throw attempts.

Bryn Hadsall Bryn Hadsall 5'5" | PG Center Point-Urbana | 2020 State IA might be leaving the Center Point-Urbana program after graduating, but another Hadsall will remain.
Laine Hadsall Laine Hadsall 5'3" | PG Center Point-Urbana | 2023 State IA played in 21 games a season ago, accounting for 36 points with 19 rebounds, 19 assists, five steals and three blocked shots. She put up 40 three-pointers in all, showing her abilities from deep as a threat moving forward.
Alivia Schulte – West Delaware
Another newcomer who saw the court last year for West Delaware was Alivia Schulte.
In 15 games with two starts, Schulte scored 28 points and had 23 rebounds with 11 steals. She also buried five three-pointers and also found her way to the free throw line 15 times.
EmmaGrace Hartman – Central DeWitt
Central DeWitt reached the regional championship before falling to Center Point-Urbana, finishing the year 18-4 overall and second in the WaMaC-East.
The Sabers graduate five players, leaving spots for Class of 2023’s EmmaGrace Hartman to slide in.
Hartman played in five games last year, scoring four points with six rebounds, two assists and a steal. She should easily boost those numbers this coming season.
