Highlight tapes are the staple for the student prospect, but watching full game film is back very strong because that is the only footage you can see someone play a full game, until they lift the stay at home and gym close restrictions. Some club teams are going to Utah, Vegas, Georgia and other places to get a run in for a weekend, but we really do not know if this is quite safe yet to do, I took myself to Vegas, but got lucky and was able to watch (2) California teams that just happen to be there. With the state of the economy and the way our leadership is handling things up on the hill, we have to strap in and go for the whole ride and see where it leaves us. We cannot do anything else but hope we find a vaccine to cure and then and only then families can get back to what we use to call normal. So sorry for the rambling, but I had to get it out, but Coaches here are some girls I believe can play at your level. Thanks for taking a good look.
2021, 5’11, SG, LACES HS, Aliyah Pollard Aliyah Pollard 5'11" | SG LACES | 2021 State CA – Aliyah is a capable big guard that is really good at creating mismatches on the perimeter and in the paint. She is one of the better players on the team in my book, with great size and a very good IQ for the game. We believe she will have a great high school season next year and really flourish as a player.
2021, 5’7, SG, Bonita Vista HS, Julia Cosalan Julia Cosalan 5'7" | SG Bonita Vista HS | 2021 State CA – Julia is that shooter you cannot leave open for a shot at anytime, because she will knock it down. She can handle the ball with consistency, she can shoot the three pointer and is working on her get to the rim game. She can make shots and she made six three pointers in this game and most of them were from about 23 feet out, she has range for sure.
2021, 5’7, PG, San Joaquin Memorial HS, Samaria Velasquez Samaria Velasquez 5'7" | PG San Joaquin Memorial HS | 2021 State CA – I really liked Samarias game, she is smooth and calm on the floor, she is crafty and one of the most efficient guards for her team. She does the little things to help her teammates succeed, she assist others, she sets screen and does all the thing you do not see in the stat book. She can shoot it from the three line and keep the defense honest, willing defender as well. Take a good look at her, her production on the floor does not show all that she can do.
2021, 5’3, PG, Palisades Charter HS, Alexis Pettis Alexis Pettis 5'3" | PG Palisades | 2021 State CA – Alexis is a smooth and strong type point guard for her team, she is capable of scoring in bunches, but those points come from her ability to get to the rim. She has a quick first step that gets her into the lane either dish out or finish at the rim. She is developing her midrange and her three pointer, but she is a solid point that will not turn over the ball for her team.
2021, 5’6, PG, Fairmont Prep HS, Kayla Ishibashi Kayla Ishibashi 5'6" | PG Fairmont Prep | 2021 State CA – Kayla is a smooth player as well, she is known for being an exceptional shooter, but she brings a little more than just that to the game. She can handle pretty well, she is quick and illusive, she gets to any spot on the floor she wants to. She can get to the bucket and score thru contact and then pull up on you with a midrange jumper, but known for knocking down long three pointers with consistency.
