Here are a few of the new faces that caught our attention with good performances. Look for these names to find spots on our next set of rankings update.
India Terrell | 5’7” | PG | Douglasville Tigers | 2021
Terrell (featured image) is a game manager in every sense. She plays intelligent basketball and seemed to always make the correct decision when the ball was in her hands. She really looked for scoring opportunities in transition whether it be scoring herself or making last-second plays for teammates to score. She was vocal, directed traffic, understood how to get open with timing, and consistently got into the paint when in the halfcourt. She also defended very well whether fighting through screens, pressuring ball handlers, or shooting passing lanes for steals. Coaches should get eyes on her.
Jordynn Dudley Jordynn Dudley 6'0" | SF Cambridge | 2023 State GA | 5’11” | SF | Essence Xtreme | 2023
The young wing seemed to be on a mission in her game. She has a motor that runs every second on the floor. Combining that with her length and athleticism, it is easy to see that she is going to be a very good player for the state. She scored frequently from agressive drives from the perimeter and also found herself at the foul line where she was perfect on her five attempts. She defended both on the perimeter and in the paint with effectiveness. She has a developing jumpshot but coverted her only attempt from behind the arc. She has all the intagibles needed to provide the versatility that coaches love in a player.
Alana Gibbs | 5’6” | PG | FBC Bounce Nation Bria | 2022
The lead guard played with a physical edge. She seemed shock resistant and initiated or absorbed contact to keep defenders looking to pressure at bay. Her court vision and pass placement was very good and on time for teammates to convert easy scores. She does most of her scoring at the rim or in the painted area using running floaters. She has a calm presence to her game and seemed uneffected by whatever the defense through at her using her dribble to escape traps while still seeing the floor.
Amy Singh | 5’9” | W | Atlanta Cagers Smith | 2022
Singh is a big wing whose size allows her to play bully basketball. She has decent athleticism and does her scoring inside of the perimeter. She showed a very nice catch and shoot mid-range jumper, knocking down multiple shots from different spots on the floor. She also did not mind mixing it up in the paint showing she could catch and score in traffic. She played an efficient style of game and only took what the defense gave her. Defensively, she is a worker and showed good mobility in her press rotations. Coaches outside of D1 should be tracking her this year.
Christina Collins Christina Collins 5'7" | CG Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe | 2023 State GA | 5’7” | W | FBC Hoopstarz Next Era | 2023
Collins strong frame and skill passed the eye test in warm-ups and her live play did not disappoint. Collins showed the ability to fill any role on the perimeter. She handled the lead guard duties when needed and was even more effective when off the ball. She has a strong first step and the strength to get through the intial contact from defenders on the way to the rim. She did a little of everything, picking up several rebounds and steals on defense. The north Georgia guard did well with her opportunity.
Ava McGlockton | 6’0” | C | Essence Xtreme | 2023
McGlockton plays a forceful game. With her size she is able to carve out space in the painted area and already has a couple of go-to post moves. She also showed patieince on defense, defending without fouling and picking up blocks. She battled against another very dominant post and held her own. She ran the floor very well and was never the last one to either end of the court.
MaKayla Arnold | 6’3” | C | Georgia Pearls | 2023
Arnold brought a very strong frame to the floor and is not afraid of contact. She has a developing offensive game, but you could see her putting it together on the court. She made great catches when posting up and showed that she has good mobility. A nice interior prospect in the making. She is in her first summer of high level aau basketball, so the experience will do a lot for her confidence and will likely accelerate her development.
Sydney Bolden | 5’9” | SG | Georgia Metros Navy | 2022
Bolden has good size for the shooting guard position and showed that she could be relied upon for offensive production. She scored in transition and in the halfcourt by using fundamental dribble moves to get by defenders and crafty finishes at the rim. She also converted from behind the arc. She plays with good energy and also played a little from the point guard spot. A nice grab for smaller D1 programs.
Alisha Foster | 5’8” | PG | E33 Eagles | 2022
Foster made good drives all game which collapsed the defense and allowed for shooters to get open looks from kickouts to the perimeter. She impressed with some acrobatic finishes even after taking the foul and got to the line for additional points. She has a quick first step and does not waste her dribble as she is a point A to B driver when she puts the ball on the floor to attack.
Ciera Burns | 5’7” | SG | FBC Bounce Nation Bria | 2022
Burns brought a no nonsense demeanor in her game. She scored the ball very well and constantly pressured the defense when leading the break. As desired from a scorer she was able to score multiple ways and made four trips to the foul line where she went 7 for 8. Defensively she was in a lot of plays coming away with several steals and rebounds. She also made a few hustle plays, stopping fastbreak opportunities for the other team and diving for loose balls. She played with infectious energy.
Lanaya Foster | 6’0” | W | FBC Bounce Nation | 2022
Foster is a strong driver and slasher. She caused challenges for defenders using her length and strength to take advantage of smaller defenders and quickness to get by bigger defenders trying to match her size. She scored often at the rim, either off of the bounce or from snatching offensive rebounds. She showed good breakout ability when grabbing defensive rebounds to initiate the offense. Another versatile player for Bounce Nation.
