The Give Greeley girls have an 8-3 record and have won two out of the three tournaments they have entered. They have also qualified for the Reebok world championships in Kansas City, MO, on July 24-26.
With how well the team is playing, we caught up with Give Greeley to find out which players are powering the team’s successful summer.
Juanita Aragon Juanita Aragon 5'6" | SG Greeley West | 2021 State CO , 2021, 5’6, SG, Greeley West
Aragon has been lighting it up from the perimeter and holding it down at the defensive end this summer, which are big reasons why she is drawing interest from Colorado Northwestern Community College, Texas A&M International University and Cisco College. She has quick feet and good hands, and that helps Aragon come up with plenty of steals while playing on-ball defense against opposing guards. A three-year varsity player at Greeley West, Aragon has averaged 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 steals over 67 career games.
Seneya Martinez Seneya Martinez 5'8" | SG Northridge | 2022 State CO , 2022, 5’8, SG, Northridge
All-conference in the 4A Northern League this past season, Martinez is also starting to turn some heads. After averaging 17.5 points in two playoff games at the end of the 2019-20 high school season, Martinez has continued that into the summer with Give Greeley. A good athlete who anticipates plays well, Martinez gets her hands on a lot of passes on defense and can turn those turnovers into transition baskets at the other end of the floor. Martinez is also a good rebounder for her size and has a developing set of finishing moves around the rim.
Tathis Arredondo Tathis Arredondo 5'3" | PG Greeley Central | 2023 State CO , 2023, 5’3, PG, Greeley Central
Following an excellent freshman season in which she helped Greeley Central to an 18-7 record with 11.7 points, 3.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.9 steals a night, Arredondo has reportedly been working every day this summer with her Give Greeley coaches and also with a strength and conditioning trainer. Arredondo has been a key pace-setter for Give Greeley this summer with her versatile blend of scoring ability, defense and a natural feel and timing for setting up her teammates.
