Continue ReadingCoach Dallas Nealy and his girls are ready to get the 2020 summer season underway. After a few weeks of being back together in the gym, the hope is that the Mass Elite Varsity crew will be able to begin tournament play the weekend of July 10. Five straight weeks of local tournaments in Massachusetts and New Hampshire should get this group going. A solid mix of both 2021s and 2022s , this is a very talented group that should garner the attention of college coaches at all levels.
Players To Watch in Class of 2021
5’5 – Point Guard – Julianna Nealy – Lawrence Academy – Pass first point guard that like to get her teammates involved. Also scores the basketball well getting to the rim. Excellent on ball defender.
5’5” -Combo Guard – Katie Hart – Ayer-Shirley Regional – More comfortable on the wing where she can score in bunches. Talented enough to also run the show at the point guard position.
5’7 – Small Forward – Chiara Nevard – Groton – Plays solid both ways, high energy player who has a knack for being around the ball. Outstanding rebounder for her size.
5’11 -Small Forward – Tajah Browder -Boston Prep – Decent handle for a big that gets her to the basket. Also squares up nice to knock down the 15 foot jumper.
5’9” – Combo Guard – Rachel Guinn – Clinton- Has the ability to go to the block but more comfortable facing up on the wing where she shoots at a high level.
5’4 – Point Guard – Hannah Dowd – Quabbin – Tough nosed point guard that plays high pressure defense and is a solid scoring option when running the point.
5’4” -Shooting Guard – Madison Laroux – Quabbin – Excellent shooter plays hard on both ends of the floor.
Rising Stars in Class of 2022
5’11” – Center – Shelby Richardson – Lawrence Academy – Traditional center, finishes well around the basket and is a defensive presence in the paint.
5’10” -Power Ford – Stephanie Hart – Ayer-Shirley Regional – Double -Double machine. Dominates the glass.
5’4” – Anna Kelly – Point Gaurd – Winchendon – Hard working point guard that gets her teammates involved and is getting better by the day.
