Mariah Frazier Mariah Frazier 6'0" | CG Ragsdale | 2021 State NC (Ragsdale, Team Curry UAA)
Appalachian State picked up a commitment from one of the top players in the Piedmont Triad: Ragsdale senior guard/forward Mariah Frazier Mariah Frazier 6'0" | CG Ragsdale | 2021 State NC . As a junior, the 7th ranked prospect in the PGH NC 2021 rankings helped lead the Tigers to a 22-5 record while averaging just under 10 points per contest.
She’s an excellent passer and can defend multiple positions at a high level. Frazier held offers from the likes of UNC Asheville, UNC Wilmington, College of Charleston, Old Dominion, and Bethune-Cookman among others. However, it’s the Mountaineers who snag one of the top available guards in North Carolina.
Nevaeh Caldwell Nevaeh Caldwell 5'8" | CG Hopewell | 2021 NC (Hopewell, Team Curry UAA)
Another Team Curry standout announced her commitment this week was Hopewell standout Neveah Caldwell. Caldwell, who is 15th in the PGH NC 2021 rankings had several D-1 offers, but has decided to head down to Spartanburg, South Carolina to play for USC Upstate. They’re getting a knockdown three point shooter and a great ball handler who was part of a Titans squad that went 17-11 in 2020. With Caldwell back in the lineup, expect her and the Titans to be near the top of the best teams in the 704 area code.
Maddie Dillinger Maddie Dillinger 6'1" | PF Cuthbertson | 2021 State NC (Cuthbertson, Lady Attack Elite)
Cuthbertson forward Maddie Dillinger Maddie Dillinger 6'1" | PF Cuthbertson | 2021 State NC is off to an excellent start this summer with Lady Attack Elite. Because of her play this season with the Cavaliers and on the AAU circuit, her recruitment has begun to pick up. The rising senior forward is sure to see her recruitment take off after picking up a couple of Division Two offers from Union University and Lincoln Memorial this past week. Dillinger was one of the more consistent scorers and rebounders in North Carolina last year and should have a big senior year for a Cuthbertson team that’ll be a 3-A state title contender.
Malea Garrison (Providence Grove, Lady Attack Elite)
Another consistent threat on both ends of the floor is Malea Garrison from Providence Grove and Lady Attack Elite. As a junior, she posted 16 points and seven rebounds per contest on a Patriots squad that reached the 2-A state playoffs last season. Garrison received a lot of interest at the Division Two level, but found a fit with Queens University. They usually recruit the state of North Carolina well and with this rising senior guard, they’re getting an explosive and efficient player.
