Found, a 5-foot-6 point guard, averaged 17 points, 7 steals, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game for a team that went 20-2 in the 2019-20 season. A Wakefield resident, Found decided to transfer after her older sister, Emma, graduated from Matignon. Emma FOund is moving on to play collegiately at Worcester State.
“My experience at Matignon was positive, but I transferred to Fenwick because it seemed like the right fit for me, a good move,” Olivia said. “I’m excited to play in the large Central Catholic league.”
Olivia Found Olivia Found 5'7" | PG Matignon | 2022 State MA plays AAU for EVO. She competes hard on both ends of the floor, and is a gifted playmaker, especially when playing with her sister. Not playing with Emma the next couple years will be different, but Olivia is ready for it, she said. Olivia is not sure if EVO will play AAU games this summer, but the program is doing small group workouts. Olivia Found Olivia Found 5'7" | PG Matignon | 2022 State MA is also working out on her own.
When she can get back out on the court, what does she want to prove to college coaches?
“Definitely how I can view the court with passing, being a point guard, just to show that everyone’s organized and knows what’s going on,” Olivia said. “I always love steals, playing hard defense, always pushing the ball up the court.”
Playing for Bishop Fenwick means moving up to MIAA Division 3 competition, where the Crusaders will immediately challenge reigning state co-champion St. Mary’s. The Bishop Fenwick program has a recent history of developing college guards (Sammi Gallant, Franklin Pierce and Jaxson Nadeau, Saint Michael’s).
Found has unofficially visited UMass, but only has interest. She’s also hearing from Division 2 and Division 3 schools.
“I definitely want to play at the highest level that I can,” Olivia said.
Also of note, Bishop Fenwick is losing Isabella Romero Isabella Romero 5'10" | PF Lawrence Academy | 2023 NewE to Lawrence Academy. The MCW Starz product will re-class to the graduating class of 2024. They gain 5-foot-11 junior forward Nasha Arnold, a transfer from North Reading.
