Sophie Huffman, 5-9 Wilmington
She just continues to get better every time she takes the floor. Hard nosed player with a lot of tools. Offensively, she does a great job creating shots for herself and her teammates. Excellent handles, has the ability to score in a variety of ways. Can score from beyond the arc, or can get to the rim and finish in traffic. Defensively Sophie continues to create for her team, forcing turnovers which leads to points. Can run the break, play in transition and has a good basketball IQ. Very quick, good court vision and can distribute.
Sami Bardonaro, 5-7 Vandalia Butler
As her game grows, she becomes more and more of a steady leader for the Aviators. Pushed into a larger role last season as a freshman due to an injury to a teammate, she didn’t disappoint as she took the leadership role and grew her game. One of her strongest assets is her ability to break open a game from beyond the arc. Outstanding perimeter game. Can put the ball on the floor and score where needed. Quick hands, excellent vision and nice defender.
Sadie Foster, 5-7 Western Brown
A rising player from the Cincinnati area, she is a shooting guard who is under the radar for now, but she can light you up from the perimeter. She has range well beyond the three-point line. Sadie is athletic, runs the floor well and can finish around the rim consistently. She is one to put on your radar during the upcoming season, and will add to an attack which already includes senior Baylee Jones.
Lily Shepherd, 5-8 Eaton
Another rising player who bounded between a starter and key sub off the bench last season. Her game has grown and the time I saw her last season, I was impressed with her poise as a freshman and always in the spot on the floor. Can score from the corners, has good range and continuing to improve her handles. I expect her to be a strong contributor for the Eagles this season.
Campbell Jewell, 5-7 Preble Shawnee
Loved this kids athleticism last season when I saw her play, as she is a two-sport star in basketball and soccer. Super quick and active on defense, pesters her opponent into turning the ball over. Can fly in transition, score at the rim. Good handles, has the ability to score from the perimeter. Good court vision and IQ.
