Below are the starting five players for the class of 2023. The list includes some of the top players in the state at their position and are chosen by position and how the type of play would work together to make each player successful. Along with a highlight of what each player will bring to the starting five and two additional reserves.
KK Arnold KK Arnold 5'10" | PG Germantown | 2023 State #8 Nation WI | Germantown | Midwest Elite | 5’8 PG
Starting at point guard is a highly ranked guard with tremendous vision and passing skills. She is fantastic at making the lead outlet pass on the fast break, and no-look passes are routine for her. She has the ability to adjust in mid-motion and throw an alternate pass if the original pass is disrupted- this is such an elite skill and shows her quick thinking. She will be the lead facilitator for this starting five but can put up huge numbers as well. She would be such an offensive threat and the offense will start with her because she is so comfortable with the ball.
Julianna Ouimette Julianna Ouimette 5'9" | CG Lakeland | 2023 State WI | Lakeland | Wisconsin Flight Elite | 5’9 CG
Ouimette is a triple threat who will add speed and craft offensively while being in your face defensively as well. This starting guard will run fast in the break and knows how to fill the lanes well. She has a great IQ for the game. She has great size for her position and finds different ways to heat up and score for her team. She is a speedster in the open court and loves to push the ball in transition. She has ample perimeter scoring ability as well. She plays with active hands defensively, and is disruptive by reaching in when off the ball. Ouimettte’s entire skill set is improving rapidly. Shooting from the perimeter, athleticism, and ball handling are all trending upwards.
Avree Antony Avree Antony 5'10" | SG Sun Prarie | 2023 State WI | Sun Prairie | Let It Rain | 5’9 CG
Antony will bring so much passion to the game while being on this starting five. One of the hardest working guards I’ve watched compete, Antony is relentless on both ends of the floor. She has incredible vision and makes highlight passes. Known best for her strong and impressive attack to the rim, Antony can also knock it down from deep. She has a great scoring ability and moves well without the ball. She operates in the pick-and- roll while being patient with the ball. Despite her size she finishes at the rim well and challenges bigger defenders. She plays effective defense as well and generates opportunities for her time by grabbing steals.
Grace Grocholski Grace Grocholski 5'10" | SF Kettle Moraine | 2023 State WI | Kettle Moraine | Wisconsin Lakers | 5’10 F
The 5’10 SG can do it all when she is on the floor. I’ve seen her be super effective when playing down low and in the lane as somewhat of a post player. However, she is most comfortable and effective being at the guard position. Grocholski has a very high ceiling and an even higher basketball IQ. She is extremely physical and athletic on the floor. She finishes well through contact and plays with loads of energy. She continues to develop her technical skills as well. Grocholski has proven she can guard any spot on the floor and takes pride in getting a defensive stop. She plays with a lot of confidence and is versatile for someone her size. She is lethal mid-range and can knock down the shot beyond the arc as well. Grocholski is an impressive rebounder as well and will contribute that on both ends. She will work really well with post players- she has a good eye for her teammates and can make a smooth pass inside to them.
Kyla Dunaway | Kimberly | Let It Rain | 6’3 F
Dunaway will be the big man in this group and will bring so much success to this starting five. She plays well on the perimeter. She is freakishly athletic and commands attention when she is on the floor. She has fantastic agility and mobility which helps open many options for her offensively. She is comfortable on the fast break as well. She plays with power, but also incorporates finesse with her skill from the perimeter and as a driver. A stretch 4 big that can step out and knock down buckets is what makes Dunaway so impactful. She continues to add a post series to her game and rely less on guard skills which has been working well for her. Additionally, this starting five can count on Dunaway to grab multiple boards per game and grab a few blocks per game as well.

Macy Donarski Macy Donarski 5'7" | PG Aquinas | 2023 State WI | Aquinas | Wisconsin Flight Elite | 5’7 PG
Coming in 6th man as a point guard for this squad is Donarski. A great ball handler and facilitator. She is very comfortable driving through the lane and making contested layups- she has a great ability to adjust and be composed in the air. She can find open teammates, and her ability to drive and kick to a corner or wing is advanced as well. Donarski is fantastic on the fast break; she runs the floor and creates opportunities for her team. A knock down shooter, Donarski can score from anywhere beyond the arc. She is quite electrifying to watch and can really be a game-changer. Known for her ability to shoot, don’t count Donarski out for a crafty impressive jelly in the lane.
Caden Krohn Caden Krohn 6'0" | PF Waukesha West | 2023 State WI | Waukesha West | Wisconsin Shooters | 6’0 F
Coming in to replace Grocholski would be Krohn, a consistent shooting guard who can also double as powerful post player who is extremely versatile and strong in the lane. She has a great skill set for her size and has a mature feel for the game. She is fantastic on the block- specifically, her footwork is very advanced. Most comfortable beyond the arc however, the WI Shooters standout can knock it down from deep. Her defender is often left guessing what she’s going to do when she gets the ball down low. She has the potential to do a drop-step, hook shot, or fade away from the block, and she excels at all of them. Krohn being able to step outside and knock down midrange and beyond the arc is so imperative for a modern day forward. She even has an impressive handle and will certainly not be a liability if she has to dribble the ball.
